A bit of french style grandeur, next to Bourbon Street and easy walking to most of what the French Quarter has to offer. Bourbon Street can get very seedy and rowdy at night but the bar and lounge area of this hotel is relatively quiet and pleasant. Our experience of staff was that they were helpful and polite. Rooms are much smaller than what we've experienced n previous hotels but where we were located was quiet and comfortable.

Room Tip: A room away from Bourbon street recommended if you want a peaceful night.

Great location, lovely, clean hotel. Felt very safe here and a great escape from the madness of Bourbon Street. One of the best hotels I have stayed in. Bring earplugs due to the outside street noise if you don't have a pool view, not the hotels fault.

First of all: The hotel is in the middle of the french quarter, well located. The Rooms are clean and it has a nice pool in the courtyard.
But sadly our stay there was full of unhappy experiences.
It started before we even got there. New Orleans had a festival that day and we were unable to even drive to the hotel. Allthough the hotel was aware that there will be a festival, there was no warning sent to new guests. After circeling around, we phoned the hotel hoping to get help. The front desk was unprepared about the scenery an did not help.
Later on they told us they indeed were surprised that the authorities closed the roads around the hotel, but as a four star hotel you always should have plan b ready at upcoming events.
Anyway, we parked the car at another place and walked to the hotel. After reaching the reception and asking for the manager (we phoned three times before but got thrown out of the line), we found another helpless person. The evening manager wasnt able to support us further and we were tired from our drive. So i finally requested to bring our car to the hotels valet service the next day and stated that we are having enough handluggage to make it through the night.
Since the festival was still going on, we decided to dine at the hotels restaurant and not go out. Another disappointing experience i will write as seperate review.
The room was in a good order and nicely prepared. But i was clearly unhappy: We received a mail with an upgrade option we agreed more than a week before we came to New Orleans. Now we found our request has been ignored with no prior notice. But we were too tired to argue about this, so we tryed to get some sleep.
Every few minutes some obviously alcoholized guests slammed doors, so trying to get sleep wasnt easy. This shouldnt happed in four star hotels. I would have expected that drunk guests should been helped finding their rooms by a hotel service.
Later that night, the hotels valet service obviously decided to bring in our car and carry the luggage into our room, completely ignoring that i clearly said we are going to bed not needing any of the luggage before the next day. Very annoying!
The day leaving the hotel i asked for the car at the valet service. They then told me it would take 30-45 minutes (!!) to get it.
I took the chance reporting these issues to the daytime manager who later on offered us a partial refund.
So sad: A nice hotel at a good place spoiled by mostly untrained staff. Please really try working on that, Bourbon New Orleans!

Dear bo574,

Thank you for staying with us and for your detailed feedback. Your experience certainly is not our standard and I apologize for your many challenges. Street work in the French Quarter, has created many challenges for our valet team above and beyond special events. Please feel free to contact me directly to further discuss your experience. My email address is mark.wilson@bourbonorleans.com. Thank you again.
