“Bourbon Orleans makes it "easy" in The Big Easy!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 March 2012

I'm a meeting and event planner and recently had a weekend meeting at The Bourbon Orleans Hotel. It was a last minute booking, the week of Mardis Gras so I was certain the hotel wouldn't be able to accommodate me. Well, they did and in a big way! The hotel, which recently underwent a multi million dollar reno, is historic, located in the heart of the French Quarter and is absolutely beautiful! Being a stone's throw away from Bourbon Street, I thought surely I'd get some complaints about the noise but I didn't get one complaint, all compliments on the hotel and location. The service was great, the food was great and the meeting space was ideal for a group my size. I'd definitely return for business and for pleasure too!

Room Tip: If you can, go for the suite. It's 2 levels with a spacious balcony! Only one bed though on th...

Our stay at the Bourbon Orleans Hotel was great! The beds were very comfortable and warm with the fluffy comforters. The bathroom was beautiful with the black marble. We had a room off the pool area, but the noise abruptly ceased at 10:00 pm so was never an issue. The lobby is lovely and comfortable and the complimentary breakfasts were delicious! We stayed for 3 nights before our cruise. Our flight home after the cruise was late afternoon, so we asked if we could come back and leave our luggage, so we could spend another day in New Orleans without dragging luggage around with us. They graciously allowed us to bring our luggage back and locked it up, allowing us the freedom to shop and sight see unincumbered by luggage! We also just hung out in their lobby until it was time to go to the airport. We enjoyed our stay and will stay at the Bourbon Orleans the next time we are in New Orleans.

In February I stayed at The Bourbon Orleans Hotel in New Orleans. The hotel is in the final phase of an update and refurbishment which has greatly enhanced the comfort level in this fine old hotel. The bathrooms have been completely redone in black marble--- very beautiful, and well designed. The bedroom itself contains a large flat screen television and a very comfortable new bed and new carpeting. The entire room is fresh and new. I really appreciate the quality of comfort and freshness. I really reccommend this hotel for businessn and pleasure.

We just returned from a stay at the Bourbon Orleans and I have somewhat mixed feelings. Overall the hotel is quite nice- it has a beautiful lobby, quality renovations, and very friendly staff. The location is wonderful in the French quarter between Bourbon and Royal streets. I greatly appreciated that they charged us for 3 nights instead of 4 due to our flight getting cancelled and only being able to get there the following day. The staff at the front desk is extremely friendly and overall I was very happy with the choice. There were 3 issues we had though that I feel like I need to mention. The biggest of these is the maid service/cleaning. It is very much lacking. When we checked in, there were serious hygiene issues in the room. The room was pretty much not cleaned after the last guests- a little shocking. We promptly let management know and they took care of it right away- basically ended up getting the room cleaned a second time so there was no harm. Cleaning was an issue throughout the stay though as the room was never vacuumed, counter not wiped down, etc. This may not be a problem elsewhere in the hotel- but with out room it was very noticeable. The second problem was the breakfast room- the speed of service was terrible- we ended up leaving without eating. The next day the restaurant didn't seem as crowded so it may have been the timing. The third was there was one small and slow functioning elevator for the entire hotel. The second was out of service the whole time- not a big issue, but not all that convenient either.

So with all of this said- I would definitely recommend this hotel.. its actually quite nice, if the cleaning issue is solved, it would be FANTASTIC. It also didn't feel dirty whatsoever- leading me to believe it really was just the person responsible for our room that was terrible. So if this had never happened I would have been raving about everything else.

Room Tip: Rooms with lower numbers (ex 601.. instead of 650) are closer to the elevators. The higher up the n...

We stayed for 5 days before our cruise and found this hotel to be great. We had one of the new townhouse rooms it was beautiful. There was a bit of noise at night from the services but when your room is at street level you need to expect it. Our room faced one of the back streets but we didn't get any of the party noise at all. The staff made our stay most enjoyable (Hi Caleb!). Our room must have been just renovated because there was still tape holding some mouldings onto the wall. The room had a very large lower level with a big seating area and the bedroom and bath are upstairs. The bed had a comforter so warm and light that I would have brought it home but it wouldn't fit in my suitcase. We will be going back next year in April hopefully and will stay here again because everyone made us feel welcome and they even remembered our names after the first day.
