Knew ahead of time they were in the midst of renovating its "Free People of Color Village". Originally didn't put it on my list but things got confused and ended up there anyway. There is artwork on two floors and there is an original Plessy vs. Ferguson document which is a historic legal case taught in all law schools nationwide. Un expectedly, I caught a poorly attended lecture by a lawyer who specializes in intellectual property law and handles musicians, singers and visual artists. I learned the difference between owning an original and owning the digital rights. It was quite an illuminating visit and I would return to see the renovated village when completed.
