This was our first trip to NO. Wanted to find a hotel close to Bourbon St. This was perfect! Pleasantly suprised by how big the room and bathroom were! The continental breakfast was one of the better ones we've had. The coffee was awesome too! Staff was very helpful as well! Can't wait to get back to NO and looking foward to staying at the Dauphine again!

Room Tip: Try to get a room away from the street...a little noisy in the morning (garbage trucks, etc)

Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms in the main hotel are of a typical modern standard. Good value with the included continental breakfast, and great location. You might want to beware of the rooms that face the brick wall of the alley; there will be some noise from garbage pickup early in the morning, though none from the street partiers. Best bet for quiet might be one of the pool-facing rooms. You'll get a free drink ticket for the attached May Bailey's bar, a nice way to start your foray into the Quarter for the evening. It is also located immediately by one of the city's (and the country's) top dining spots, Bayona. But the whole Quarter is within easy walking distance, as is Congo Square/Louis Armstrong Park. No restaurant, so no room service, though I'd imagine the desk knows which places will deliver, if that's what you're looking for.

Room Tip: Rooms which face the alley may get some early morning garbage pickup noise. Jacuzzi bath was welcome...

My husband and I have stayed with the Dauphine Orleans three times and are immensely looking forward to our upcoming Valentines/Mardi Gras visit. We have yet to stay in the main hotel but have had two wonderful stays in the Hermann House and one in the beautiful Audubon Cottages.

The Dauphine is located a quick one block away from the action of Bourbon Street. Upon check-in you are given two free drink coupons for May Bailey's Place, a brothel turned pub in the main building. Like everywhere else in the Hotel, the bar has a historic feel and friendly atmosphere, and free drinks are, well, just awesome! As soon as you're ready a friendly bellhop will whisk you and your luggage to you room, whether it is in the Audubon Cottages a block down from the main building, the Hermann House across the street, or your room in the main building.

Our first stay was in the Audubon cottages, which are best described as an oasis in the French Quarter; the courtyards are lush and tropical and the semi-private pool and quietly tinkling fountains make you feel as though you're light-years from the city! We stayed in the studio cottage and it was a beautiful well-equiped room with a jacuzzi, huge windows overlooking the courtyard and a bed that is so comfortable, that you just don't want to get out of it in the morning.

During our second visit, for our Honeymoon, the cottages were unfortunately (for us) undergoing renovations, but Sales Manager Dawn was an absolute gem in setting us up with a beautiful room in the Hermann House. The Hermann House has another lush courtyard, which includes a hot tub, the swimming pool across the street is accessable to all guests. We had the Main Floor King Suite and it was HUGE, it had all of the same amenities of the Audubon Cottages but included a second living room and a beautiful bathroom with a two person jacuzzi, separate shower and well lit mirrored vanity. As the room was on the ground floor beneath a balcony, it was, admittedly, a little on the dark site, the large amount of windows more than made up for that though, once the shutters were open. Our third stay was also in the Hermann House, in a Premium King Room on the second floor. Once again the room was impeccably beautiful with exposed brick walls, a jacuzzi and the amazingly comfortable bed, which seems to be standard in all rooms.

Finally, I forgot to mention the Continental Breakfast, included with all accommodations. It is in the Main House, by the pool and May Bailey's. It includes coffee, tea, milk and a variety of juices, hard boiled eggs, fruit, make your own waffles and toast...delicious!

I highly recommend the Dauphine Orleans to anyone looking for an amazing French Quarter experience!

Room Tip: The Hermann House Jacuzzi Suite is perfect for Honeymooners.

've stayed several places in the French Quarter and I was surprised that this place got such great ratings. While the service was great and there were some nice touches like the welcome drink tickets and free water, the bathroom was scuzzy. There was mildew on the ceiling which I reported, and the 'fix' was to paint over part of it with a swipe of a different color and leave the rest. There were several large chips out of the toilet. The TV took several on/off tries to get it going. The rest of the room was nice but there was a lot of noise being right over the interior parking area. I had to use earplugs to keep from being woken up in the morning. If they put out as much effort keeping the rooms up as they do with the service, they'd be a 5-star rated hotel.

Room Tip: Away from the garage

The room and location of this hotel are great. The beds are very comfortable and the pillows too. There is a fridge in the room which is great for leftovers. The staff is very friendly and Mike the valet guy is also very nice.

We had a balcony room with two queen beds. The balcony overlooked Dauphine Street and it is a long balcony so you have about four or five other rooms that share the same one. When you exit your balcony doors you step out on the balcony and there is a bench you can sit on in front of each room. I didn't see anyone else on the balcony for the few times I went out there but it was nice to go out one more and see filming right in front of the hotel.

The only complaint I would have about this hotel is that the doors leading out to the balcony are old and seem to not have any sealant left in them. I could feel the coldness coming through the crack of the doors and luckily it wasn't too cold. The blinds on the doors were starting to come apart as well so I would recommend the hotel invest in either new doors or at least resealant and some new blinds. But i would still stay here again because it was a great place to stay..

Oh yeah, I do wear earplugs so I couldn't hear any noises coming from the balcony. My friend could hear a little noise but I have learned if I don't want to hear noises in a hotel invest in earplugs.
