What a fabulous park to visit! Much to my surprise they have a large amusement park that operates year-round. It was pretty mind-blowing to go there at Christmas. The light display is wondrous. The crowds are HUGE, though, so try to go during the weekday.

World Class Park

I recently went to City Park to visit the new sculpture garden and children’s museum. Both are great new additions to the Park. The new Cafe du Monde is also a wonderful new addition to the Park. Locals and tourists alike owe to themselves to visit this jewel of New Orleans.

Festive lights in the Park

I last visited the park nearly 30 years ago during Christmas. We drove through it enjoying the sparkling lights and displays. Sadly, after Katrina, the damage lead to changes. No driving permitted; now you can purchase a ride on a train. That ride did show us nice displays, but the seats on the train are awkward for adults. The station was in a special section with other stands and rides, which was also festive with lots of lights. Well worth it.

Celebration of the Oaks a must

We went to City Park for the Celebration of the Oaks. The lights were amazing. We had a great time. We went early and we did it got crowded very quickly. A must during the holiday season.

Very nice

A beautiful park. Vendors were there on the outskirt of the park selling many thing. They even had taro card readings there.
