Beautiful square! This is where you can get a horse drawn buggy for a tour, Cafe Du Monde is just across the street, the Tabasco store is here, local art by local artists, and everything else. We shop here every time we're in town. Don't miss!

Enjoyable area to stroll, view the art, people watch and in general enjoy the southern genteel feel of New Orleans. Very crowded at midday but a nice evening stroll.

On a nice day you can't beat hanging around the music and artists in the square for great people watching.

If any one talks to you about your shoes just keep walking! It is just a way to scam you into a cheap shoeshine. Really just someone rubbing a dirty rag on your shoe. Then they will expect at least $10 or you will get cursed at. Other than that it is a nice place to spend the afternoon relaxing on the grass, eating at local restaurants or shopping for art.

Very historical and cool part of the city. Be sure to check out The beautiful St Louis cathedral. Lots of great places to eat and drink all around the square. Also the pick up point for the carriage tours. A great spot to relax and people watch.
