Lovely beach for stringing up a hammock and listening to the waves with a paperback on your chest and a cervesa in the sand

The beach is in the form of a double embayment. The northern beach beyond the sand spit and headland is more secluded and peaceful. The main beach is semi circular with a golden coral sand. The swimming is protected due to a reef offshore. There is free parking and things get quite busy at weekends.

Loved our morning at San Juanillo! We were on a Painting, Yoga and Adventure Retreat that I co-lead w my Artist friend and our painters had a fabulous time painting the beauty of this beach gem. Our adventurers enjoyed a magical morning of stand-up paddling (with La Tribu) and everyone enjoyed luxuriating in the beautiful calm waters!

If you want to be in paradise, you have to be here. You can camp, is secure, be sure to get food and water, there is no near places to buy something.

This is my home town beach. I love it. The real Costa Rican's go here....not the tourists. The water is super clear and lovely. The beach is really down home. People sell civeche and juice in the parking lot. Cocobolo is the best beach cafe and bar you will ever see! This is a fishing village and the beach is the best.
