But go to the side where the fishing pangas are. It’s less rocky, and when the waves are high there is fun body surfing.
The beach is two deep water coves separated by a sand bar peninsula. There is a small hike-able hill at the far end of the sand bar which makes it a cool place to explore. Fishing planchas anchored away from the beach on the left cove. Vigorous surf when we were there. Fun for body surfing. A couple of local surfers had a nice break in the cove to the right. When we were leaving we saw a quieter beach area where there were families with smaller children. Cool little bar across for the beach served up some good margarita and pina colodas. Lots of cold beer available. Food available here but didn’t try any. May have been 10 people at the most from what we could tell. Bathroom facilities were locked but there are bathrooms up by the bar which my wife said were rather moldy/dirty. The main bathrooms may have been under construction. Worth enjoying.
Is simple, is still in the middle of nothing. No big buildings around and pure nature and local people around. The ocean is clear and they are many tide pools to enjoy. Amazing for snorkeling, swimming, having a beer, etc. Is this beach with some caribbean ones the best of the country.
We had a really nice moment here with my wife and a couple of friend we had a beer while waching a wonderful sunset in this nice beach with narrow and safe warhers. Remember, to get here you have to drive long a dirty but funny road, like almost all the roads that takes you at the beaches in Costa Rica. Yes is used to read people complaining for the roads to get here ir there but this is Costa Rica, the 90% of the roads to go to the beach are dirty ones, not dangeros not with big holes but not gravel on them, is a way to preserve the nature and i like it, Great Costa Rica, bravos,
It’s off the beaten path but definitely worth it. Great place to swim, sunbathe and chill. Love this beach. We go here every time we go to Costa Rica
