We stayed at this property for two nights in a first floor room. The 'room' is really three rooms comprising a large dining room with a fridge and table and chairs; a fairly large bedroom with TV and AC, a wet room and a balcony/patio. There are also two comfortable chairs outside the room on the balcony/patio with a fan above. Every afternoon we were served a huge pot of delicious milk tea (masala if requested). Breakfast was also good - some local fare as well as toast and fruit etc. Rooms were clean, with little thoughtful touches like cutting the toilet roll open so we didn't have to fight to find the end and then spend an hour ripping the roll to bits to try and release it! Another thoughtful touch was the owner would light mosquito coils every evening, outside the room.
The homestay itself is in a peaceful area (it's easy to hail an autorickshaw though) with local shops in the immediate area. A leisurely 15 minute walk brings you to the docks where the shikaras and mororboats are berthed. There's a number of eateries in that area too. It will cost approx 30 rupees to get to the boats, by rickshaw, or 100 to get to the beach.
This is a well-tended well-run customer-focussed homestay where we could genuinely relax and enjoy what the backwaters and Alleppey had to offer. We thought it was great, and incredibly good value.

Great rooms, you have a bedroom, bathroom and a dining room, plus a lovely outdoor terrace. We were very impressed. Also all very clean - and a tv too! Everyone could not have been more helpful or nice to us. They even washed our beach towels for us at no charge. Breakfast was included and this was good too. Great place to stay.

Clean quarters with a small eating area with a table and chairs + fridge, bedroom and bathroom with shower. What clinched it for us was the owners. Eldhose, his wife and his brother made us feel very welcome, and plied us with tea and coffee on demand. We wanted a taste of the proper food from the area (as opposed to the tourist food on offer in restaurants) and the wife made us an absolute feast. We were treated like royalty, and I would happily go back to the same place if I was in the area. Highly recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at Nova Holiday cottages!
The apartment was clean and comfortable. Shower room was large and the bedroom was clean and cooled well with fan/aircon!
Our host (his name escapes me) was a lovely kind man who gave us plenty of advice during our stay - Ask for a milk tea, absolutely delicious!
It was nice to see many different varieties of fruits and chillies growing on the grounds of the property.
All in all, a great stay. Thank you!
