A wonderful Home stay with a very attentive Host. The food was excellent. Lalli's cooking is just great with local dishes. Large rooms and well furnished. Cannot forget to mention Jacky the loving dog. A must visit home in Alapuzha.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to Motty and his wife Lali for making our stay in December 2015 such a wonderful experience. We stayed in a lovely garden room with a balcony for 13 days. We spent hours sitting on the balcony watching the most beautiful variety of birds that India can produce. Motty and his wife were the most amazing hosts. Motty prepared all of our outdoor trips in Alleppey an around. It is the perfect location to go for the most beautiful backwater outings. Needless to say that we did not have to worry about any arrangements for such trips as Motty did it all for us. We loved the delicious food cooked by Lali and even had fun learning how to cook some of the delicious dishes she produced. I most definitely would go back again. Thank you Motty and Lali. Iria

We absolutely recommend staying at Motty's Homestay. Motty and Lali are warm and generous hosts who went beyond what they needed to do in order to ensure that we had a fabulous time as well as learnt about Kerala. Motty made suggestions and then organised drivers and activities. We particularly loved our village boat trip in a long boat where along with a guide, we took a local bus to his house and then he showed us through the small canals. It was quiet and we saw lots of birds as well as people going about their daily lives. This would not have been possible in a much larger houseboat. Motty drove us to some locations as well. In addition, Lali is a superb cook. She prepared beautiful home cooked food and we were fortunate enough to eat it all! This is the place to stay if you want a truly immersive experience where you can ask questions and go beyond staying in a hotel.

Room Tip: We loved our upstairs room with its balcony however, all rooms are great.

This spacious house has cosy rooms furnished with antique furniture and a well set garden - a rare gem in such a central location !First impression of the room...spotless!!!
I really appreciated the clean and comfortable sized bathroom and the layout of the room. The bed was also very comfortable and the bedding was quality.
I can't say enough about how friendly and helpful Motty and Laly were during our stay. They made sure that we had the best Keralan breakfasts and also made sure we were prepared with directions and advice before we went out for the day. The house is situated on an peaceful street five minutes from the canals and the town..

Its hard to chose a favorite place but this was at the top. Our room was upstairs with our own balcony. It was close enough to walk to town, or the beach which was a bit further, around 40mins or a very cheap ricksaw ride in 10mins. The best part about our stay was our hosts, Motty and Lali are the perfect hosts and their house is beautiful. Lali is a wonderful cook, possibly our best meals and we even had a complimentary cooking demonstration on request. We are trying it out ourselves tonight so we'll see how it goes. It was the small personal touches that made it so special, afternoon sweet treats and a cold drink when we got back from a walk and great conversation at dinner. They have a water filter to stop the waste of plastic bottle which I think its a great idea. So the open water bottles in the room are totally safe to drink.

If you want to go to Alleppey and prefer a more personal experience stay here.

Room Tip: Up stairs with the balcony
