Spent one night aboard the Pamba one-bed boat with Ajesh, Rahul and Ratheesh looking after us and we had an awesome time. Our kids warmed to them straight away and Ajesh tailored the meals to suit their boring palette. Haha. the views are constantly superb. So much to see even the canoe trip along the smaller waters was a lovely relaxing break from the main thoroughfares which can busy with houseboats. It was perfectly safe with our boys (4 & 2 yo, and I can assure you they are monsters, any opportunity to climb something they take it) but here, they were fine. One of us was out front all of the time of course and they were happy running to our room and back. Had there been an upstairs like some boats we might have struggled. It was hot on board in March. The air con was a saviour when it kicked in at night in the room. One night was enough with two boys. Definitely a must-do when visiting Kerala. Thanks Xandari riverscapes and Thanks Globe Travel Centre.

We booked a one bedroomed rice boat for a two day cruise along the backwaters which was the highlight of our holiday in Kerala. Having read previous reviews ‘wishing they could stay onboard longer’ we decided to extend the second day to include lunch and a 4.30pm departure as this provided additional time to explore the smaller canal system off the main ‘river highway’. Our chef onboard was excellent and even provided homemade snacks & drinks between main meals to ensure we were well looked after. We would highly recommend this company.

Wonderful.

We spent almost 24 hours on one of Xandari's riverboats. There were 3 crew for the two of us although the boat, which was one of the smaller ones, could take 4 passengers and 4 crew.

The whole experience was just great. The crew kept us informed, comfortable and well fed & watered throughout the afternoon, evening and the next morning. Lots to see as we travelled. Too numerous to include in this review but if you get the chance get into a smaller boat to get into the smaller canals for an up close and personal view of local life.

The food was excellent, the fish for lunch and the chicken curry at dinner were two of the many dishes that I will remember for a while.

Bedrooms have en-suite with flushing toilet and shower, as well as air conditioning.

Even the mosquitoes were notable by their absence.

This was an out of the world experience. Superb houseboat and fantastic staff. Good food. A must include on your Kerala itinerary. The village tour they claim, though is non-existent. The ride on a smaller boat is very interesting taking you to the interiors of the islets but beyond that you left on your own to get down to see the villages. The boat crew was really very good. A great experience overall!

Beautiful houseboat with excellent staff. We loved the wholehouseboat experience, it was incredibly relaxing with ever changing scenery. The food was outstanding and the facilities very good. It was a beautifully fitted out boat. We particularly enjoyed the canoe ride through the backwaters villages. Surprisingly we were happy to be without wifi or tv and found that we were not at all bored. Crew were attentive and Friendly. The experience will remain a special memory.
