“Worth a visit, but AVOID the "combo ticket" rip-off!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2012

I'm a lover of aquariums. This one is one of my favorites. The aquarium is set up quite nicely, and it does have a nice variety of exhibits and animals to view. However, here are a few warnings. Do NOT go here if there are a lot of people around town. It will be so crowded that you will not enjoy yourself, period. Do NOT buy the combo ticket garbage or the "pamphlet" they persuade you to buy at the ticket booth. All of the other Ripley's attractions are tourist traps with little substance. If you've never been before, the Believe it or Not museum is a decent one, but the rest are just plain awful. Unfortunately, for the price you pay for Ripley's attractions, you really receive very little. All of them, including the aquarium, get a "1" in the value category from me.

I have been here multiple times and I always feel relaxed during and after visit. Great for a hot, cold or rainy day while on vacation.

“Just average”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2012

Due to construction/remodelling, the flow in to and out of the Aquarium was awful. You can tour the entire aquarium in under 3 hours. It was nice that it's all indoors, and climate controlled. I guess, growing up near SeaWorld and Miami Sequarium, I'm a bit spoiled. I think this is a great place for those that live nearby to have an annual pass to take their small children regularly. Otherwise, it's something to do on a bad weather day if you're in Gatlinburg.
