Papaya salad is great, the pad seeya was very bland, pad Thai is very good well balanced spices. Some items are very spicy n some items are very bland. Have napkins n water handy. Overall Better than Joya n pok pok.

We were just passing by to find place for dinner, watching through shopwindow and couple sitting near just told us that is good so we entered and ordered meal without any expectation. It was called kao say and it was amazing. Really nicely served, spicy but still you feel taste of curry. I can only highly recommend.

Kao Soy is usually overshadowed by the neighboring Pok Pok, but it's not to be dismissed. It's better than your average Thai restaurant. You can find typical dishes, like Pad Thai and Pad Se Ew, but also some unique dishes as well. The food is always intentionally prepared. Order the Kao Soy, the restaurant's namesake. Is it worth a special trip to Red Hook? Not necessarily. But if you find yourself nearby, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

After reading multiple great reviews from various sources, we came with high hopes and were not disappointed. We found parking around the corner and ordered with the help of our lovely server. Clients here were definitely locals who were familiar to the place and the menu. The food was incredible. We ordered the namesake which was extraordinary and pork belly special. Very reasonably priced. Can't wait to return!

Excellent Thai food, on par with Pok Pok (to keep it B61). Noodles moist, chicken not too tough, shrimp spicy and fresh.

One star off for odd service and phone manners.
