This is a new addition to the many restaurants that line Smith Street in the Carroll Gardens/Cobble Hill area. I ate lunch there yesterday and was quite pleased.
My waiter could not have been more helpful, explaining the menu to me. The food is Vietnamese, with Southern/American influences--definitely not run of the mill. I had a pork sandwich that was delicious--caramelized pork on one side, slightly spicy vegetables on the other, on fresh french bread. The jasmine mint ice tea was the perfect drink for a hot summer's day.
All and all, a great place to stop for a meal if you are in the area.
P.S. The same people also own Seersuckers which is just up the street a bit. I have also eaten there (although it has been a while) and thought it was quite good. The cuisine there, however, is different--modernized Southern, busicuits, fried chicken that sort of thing. The owners have been quite supportive of the local school.
