It is the first time we stayed at a B&B and were very pleased with the accommodations. Susan and Chalo were gracious and made us feel at home. They made a special effort to meet our needs. The only difficulty was bringing the luggage up the stairs but it was still a very positive experience.

We were so pleased with our stay at DeKoven Suites - If you've never considered a traditional B & B, you need to stay here. Complete privacy, on a quiet street and the most comfortable bed one could imagine. (I typically cannot sleep well when traveling but this was heaven!)
Just a 5-minute walk to the subway, we felt completely safe and at home. Juno, Uber or town cars were at our door within 5 minutes of a call. Breakfast had some special touches and our hosts even offered their wonderful kitchen so we could heat up leftovers.
Susan is a gem with providing visitor suggestions and accommodating us with an after-hours check-in and early breakfast. Her hospitality was there for whatever we needed and was much appreciated. We'll return here on our next trip to NY and the Brooklyn area.

We've stayed here twice now, and have had great experiences both times. Susan is gracious and welcoming. The room and bath are large and well equipped. Breakfast is casual but with plenty of food, including excellent warm croissants and great coffee. It's very close the Newkirk subway station, where the Q train comes often and there's a great gyro spot and a wonderful new Mexican diner.

Room tip: the jacuzzi bedroom has the least train noise.

If you're going to sightsee Brooklyn or NYC, the Dekoven Suites is ideally situated. It is only 2 blocks from the Newkirk Plaza subway station. It is also just a few blocks from an area with a large number of diverse restaurants (American, Middle Eastern, Tibetan.....).

It is located on a dead end street in a residential area. This can create some parking problems. However, they were easily solved with the assistance of the innkeeper, Susan. My "association" with Susan began with a number of emails making inquiries and receiving prompt replies to my questions. One of my concerns was with the time of check-in. It turns out that you can check-in at any time.....pretty convenient.

The "Master Bedroom," with the ensuite bathroom, was very sizeable. There is a small refrigerator, which was not expected, but very useful during our stay.

There is a self-serve breakfast from 8 A.M. (earlier, if needed). Coffee, teas, milk, cereals, pastries (terrific pastries!), fresh fruit, breads, and warm croissants. Susan offered to make pancakes or French toast for us. There is an ice machine in the breakfast room!

Throughout our stay, Susan was terrific, being extremely helpful. We had a very nice three-night stay there!

What a find in the middle of Ditmas Park. Perfect location right next to the subway. Lots of cool restaurants a few blocks away. Super, super quiet. And the owners are very accommodating. Asked us several times if we needed anything. Helped us figure out where to go for some sight seeing. Breakfast was great both mornings. Love that it didn't at all have a hotel feel. More of a home. We'll return!
