An interesting stop in a town not overloaded with tourist activity. We spent an hour here and found it worthwhile.

This is a beautiful building with great displays about life in Alaska. And it is free (donations welcome). There is a nice theatre there with great videos about Alaska. It is also a great source of information if you are planning your trip to this area.

One of the best information centres I have ever been to. Wish I could remember the name of the presenter. He was wonderful, 30+ years experience in Alaska and was great to listen too.
At the conclusion of our trip I felt the only thing missing was more people like this with intimate knowledge of the history and current activities throughout the year.
I could have spent hours here

This facility houses the National Forest Service as well as other federal and State agencies so it is a wonderful source of information. It also houses a museum with great depictions of life in the far north. Well worth a visit and do make a contribution.
