Really cute hotel that's easy walking distance from City Market and other sites. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Loved the donuts and other kitschy touches. Wish the water pressure was better, but the price can't be beat for downtown Savannah.

I really loved this hotel - the decor, the music, the room, the breakfast dougnuts and the location! There is a big parking lot which is a big plus, and from there you can easily walk into town or take one of the trolley tours (recommended!) as the start just one block down.

The décor and atmosphere is right out of the 50s. The only thing missing was the juke box, although 50s music is piped throughout the common areas. Staff is friendly and the Inn is dog friendly as well, although they do charge $ 50.00 a night for your pooch. The rooms are clean and comfortable and everything right down to the phone is circa 1950. Free popcorn, lemonade, and donuts are available and the staff is very knowledgeable on what eateries are available and dog friendly as well. Inn is certainly in walking distance to shopping and night life activity in downtown Savannah. Additionally, they have some "period" bicycles that are available for you to explore the area. Not sure why they charge a $10.00 parking fee as other hotels in the area do not. They should reconsider that policy. Of course there's no pool or game room, but people coming there are mostly coming to explore and take in all that Savannah has to offer. Therefore I would not say it's a great place for the kids.

We enjoyed the atmosphere of the Thunderbird, but were woken frequently throughout the night by loud neighbors & a ridiculous amount of road noise. If you're a deep sleeper, you'd probably be fine, otherwise stay elsewhere.

This was our second visit to the Thunderbird Inn. Our first visit was really fun and for the price, we got what we expected. However, our second trip was not as great -- we were in a corner room right next to the cleaning closet which meant constantly hearing the cleaning staff and at night, our room was flooded with light due to the lights directly outside our room. We also had constant issues with our thermostat returning itself to 85 every couple of hours no matter what we tried. Our visit was short so we decided to deal with it, but we will not be returning. I was not thrilled with the added parking fee of $10/night. I feel like that should be included in the price of the room for the quality of the hotel. We did love the vibe of the hotel and the location!
