While attending the Baltimore Heritage 2017 Awards Celebration in Lexington Market, we were happy to have the chance to taste something from Faidley’s Seafood. This is a family owned and operated business that started in 1886. They have been in the Lexington Market for well over 100 years. We got the chance to talk with Damye, who was so nice and helpful. Faidley’s is probably best known for their crab cakes. The area is divided into the fresh fish side, the raw bar, and the fried side. The fresh side sells all kinds of fresh fish. The raw bar sells beer, oysters, and clams. The fried fish side is everything fried. The area is not fancy. There are no tables where you can sit down. Instead, there are only tall communal tables. They served us delectable crab balls and deviled eggs. The crab balls were plump and seasoned perfectly.
