Cool hotel, very friendly, clean and comfortable. Room was great we got a king and the bed was great. Nice complimentary breakfast. Small wine and beer bar in lobby. Awesome rooftop patio with neat plants. Very nicely done remodel on this neat old building, they didn't cut any corners and so everything works well and has great look and feel. You won't be disappointed.

Just spent a lovely weekend night here in a cosy two-room corner suite (301) overlooking water and downtown. Beautiful wood furniture, fold-out couch, big-screen in each room, heated floor in bathroom, comfy bed in bedroom and a mini-frig and coffee maker.

Downstairs, a tasty, filling breakfast (egg scramble, tons of bread, cereals, bananas, juice) is served until 10 a.m. in style at the light-filled wine bar off the old-timey lobby. Front desk was very professional at all times with knowledgable advice on the town.

I didn't get a chance to go up to the rooftop terrace, so now I have another reason to return to a very nice hotel in a great location right in downtown Astoria.

This is a wonderful place to relax in downtown Astoria. Go up to the rooftop deck and enjoy the view. The place has been restored with an eye towards keeping the historic beauty and adding modern amenities such as free Wi-Fi and heated tile floors in the bathroom. It's the only place downtown where you can walk to all the fine restaurants and fun shops. The staff is helpful and welcoming too!

There are many positives about this hotel. The location right in the centre of town is excellent and on Sunday there is a Farmers and Craft Market right outside the front door. The room was fairly spacious and the recently modernised bathroom with underfloor heating was excellent. However, the bedroom would have been more spacious without the chunky, dark and old fashioned furniture - for example the television was in a huge black cabinet at least two feet deep and around five feet high . Why could it not be fitted to the wall as most hotels do ? The whole atmosphere of the room was rather gloomy not helped by the over bed lights in their red shades.
Whilst the staff were generally helpful nobody told us about the free coffee, fruit etc in reception - there was no guide to the hotel in our room. Although the wine bar was open Saturday and Sunday we were surprised not to be able to get a glass of wine on a Monday. Breakfast was all right but nothing exceptional. As this was one of the more expensive hotels we stayed in on a recent tour round Oregon we were disappointed in the value for money.

Stayed here for 1 night at the start of a week in Oregon. Every part of the stay was excellent: check-in and check-out, the room, the facility. The rooms are not huge, but big enough. The lobby is very welcoming, with a small bar that doubles as the breakfast area. The breakfast itself is a step up in quality from the usual "hot breakfast." The exercise room is excellent for a hotel this size. There are restaurants, shops, and the Fort George Brewery/coffee shop within walking distance. Hotel Elliott has character and atmosphere missing from the chain lodging, and the price is right.
