Pro's: special decorated reception, the room was bright and colorful, not dark as in some other motels/hotels. The room was neat and clean. At the reception there was always Clam Chowder for the customers as well as coffee, tea, water...
Con's: Breakfast was good, but there was no orange juice?

Room Tip: A quiet room on the 2nd floor, away from the busy road.

This motor inn style hotel is fun. The young lady that greeted us at check in was so much fun, full of information about Astoria and helpful. She was great.. chowder available to snack on and the swanky style of the place.. The room was clean and neat. This is a great value and in a great location. We had such a great stay.

This place is a throw- back to the late 50s, or early 60's. Lobby has some interesting décor, as do the rooms. The gentleman at the front desk was very friendly, and helpful, He even gave us his personal pass to the Astoria Tower so we wouldn't have to pay for parking.

This motel is on the main drag, so we could hear the traffic all night. There was a refrigerator in the room. The room was clean, done in retro colors, but was nothing fancy.

They had bicycles available if you wanted to use them, close enough to the river walk to walk to dinner; or eat right next door at the Pig and Pancake.

Room Tip: Get one further from the road.

This is an old (built in 1953) motel that has been brought up and turned into a really neat place.

It meets all my requirements for a hotel as super clean, fast/free wifi (one of the best I've had in any hotel), friendly staff (the woman who manages it was so friendly/helpful), and easy access.

There is no a/c, but as someone who likes it freezing, that is not an issue as the sea keeps the area cooler, so I had no issues (and I usually blast the a/c)

They had free chips, chowder and beer on check-in, too. For an area that is super expensive in summer, this place was also a great value.

I wouldn't hesitate to return next time I am in this beautiful part of the country.

I chose Atomic for its room rates & over-the-top reviews. It's over-rated. Their website & guests mention complimentary chips/salsa, "sometimes stews" chowder local beer. None was provided. We don't expect those amenities but to promote & not provide is disappointing. One hand towel was stained/dirty with multiple black streaks. A major concern was the lack of a bedside outlet for spouse's sleep apnea CPAP. If I'd known that, I wouldn't have booked Atomic. No bathroom grab bar is problematic. "Local Scandinavian pastries" looked/tasted ;like grocery store bakery.

Convenient location, friendly employees free use of retro bikes, & clean room are on the plus side. Cute decor doesn't make up for shortcomings however. We won't be back.
