I was able to get a table quickly on a Wednesday night at 6:30 without having to wait. At first, I felt the imoreimpre that this may have been more of a lunch place but I was pleseanple wrong on that.
The server was helpful since I was a first timer and explained the menu to me. I liked how everything was laid out and while it is a BBQ place, I feel like the restaurant did a good job of separation from the typical which I do appreciate.
I tried the brisket cut style, the cornbread and the grits. For me, the winner of the three was the grits and I was hesitant to try them to begin with. The brisket was good, it wasn't in the Texas fat saucey style I prefer and had a burnt-end quality to it, never the less, I did enjoy it and this ain't Texas either. I would have eaten twice the amount, not because I'm gluttonous but because it still was that good. The cornbread dish, ah, well, okay but in alright with that.
I travel for business so the quick turn around was great. A lot of servers seem to forget solo diners just wanna get in and get out fast and the server was well aware of this and it is much appreciated.
Kudos, I liked it!
