This was very good. Kayla was our guide, and she is a history teacher. The tour was very good, stopping at several places in the downtown area that are reputed to be haunted. She also shared her experience of starting out as a skeptic and becoming convinced of the existence of ghosts. She, and Cindy, the owner of the Tour company, did not promise paranormal activity. However, they did mention at each stop the type of experiences other people on the tours have had. Kayla also shared pictures that are supposed to be of paranormal activity. She encouraged pictures of the various sites, providing her card with contact information if something showed up in the pictures that looked odd. Both she and Cindy were in period costume. Dress for the weather and wear good shoes for walking. Most of the walking is on city sidewalks or streets. Also, it does get very dark in one area, so a flashlight would be helpful. Otherwise, the only light is from Kayla's candle lantern. Good for older kids who wouldn't necessarily be spooked out with nightmares afterwards.

We did the ghost hunt. Our guide, Harry was amazing. He was very knowledgeable in the history and let all who wanted to participate do so. Whether you are a skeptic or a believer it had something for all. If you are a believer there were spirits a plenty!

We had Ken as our guide. He was vary knowledgeable and focused more on the civilian side of the battle and the aftermath for the citizens. It gave a very different perspective of Gettysburg. No spirits were promised and Ken only spoke about the history. The only time he brought up any paranormal activity were things that he saw happen on his tours, he didnt just tell ghost stories. I loved the tour.

Emily conducted my tour. I have taken tours with literally every ghost tour company in Gettysburg and find Sleepy Hollow to be the most competently conducted.A ghost sighting was not promised a spirit nor was time spent trying to conjure up a spirit. Instead, suspicious sightings, events or happenings were explained, leaving each person to figure out what caused the oddity. The guide asked for questions and gave more than a yes/no answer, insuring that the answer was understood. The tour lasted a full 90+ minutes. The guide moved the group about at relaxed speed but observing caution and the safety of the group in crossing streets and going into dark areas. Before the tour began, I had the opportunity to speak with 5 of the companies tour guides. I was impressed with their knowledge of the battle, town and various residents about whom they would introduce during their tours. This company provides mature, knowledgeable and dedicated guides who are serious about giving their customers an enjoyable experience. In comparison, I have been on ghost tours in Gettysburg that were conducted by very young guides who worked off of a script and knew little more than what they had been fed to read and/or present.

Ed was a great storyteller, but the tour was a little disappointing. We did walk around, but only one of his stories had anything to do with where we were at the time; we could have heard the rest of the stories while sitting on a park bench. Only hearing four stories within the 90-minute tour didn't seem like much. The tickets were fairly inexpensive, so I guess you get what you pay for, and that Ed made a point of asking for tips more than once during the tour seemed a little tacky.
