Good place to go for happy hour and decent pub food. Not as cramped as the more well known Moriarty's across the street. The lack of Guinness on tap in an "Irish" pub is puzzling. It's a noisy, boisterous place across from the Forrest Theater and a few blocks up Walnut St. from the Walnut St. Theater. They cater to the theater crowd so you will get served quickly if you let them know.

We stopped by The Irish Pub with 45 minutes before seeing "The Book of Mormon" at The Forrest Theatre (across the street) - both the hostess and wait staff were SO ACCOMMODATING! We managed to squeeze in a very tasty lunch for 3 in record time, with no apparent impact on quality, taste or service. My husband enjoyed a Philly cheese steak, my son a chicken parmesan sandwich and the "fries with everything" were out of this world! We'll remember this excellent little pub the next time we see a play at The Forrest Theatre and definitely recommend their "pub fare!"

Full disclosure: we didn't eat here, only drank, but the food did look good.

We went here because we were early for a dinner reservation and wanted to grab a beer and we love Irish pubs. We grabbed 4 beers between the 2 of us and they were good and not very expensive. Keep in mind, we're from NY, so beers are between $7-9 on average.

All the beer choices were good. They had Bud and Coors Light for that crowd, and they had hoppy craft beers and stouts for that crowd. Literally, anyone can find a beer here they'll like.

We went back after dinner for a "nightcap," as they called them in old movies and detective novels. I had a couple of Frangelicos and coffee (coffee was good, Frangelico made it better) and my wife had a Bailey's and coffee.

Dustin the bartender was awesome. He knew all there was to know about beer, both the beers on tap and the beers that were coming to the taps when some kegs ran out. We talked beer for a while and then he gave us recommendations at a bakery we were going to the next day and he got legit excited to hear we were going there.

Good place, good beer, good prices, good coffee, good people. Can't expect more than that from an Irish pub. You want crazy $15 cocktails? I dunno. Go to NYC.

Went for dinner on a date night during late summer. The menu does not include very many Irish dishes. When I inquired I was told that the summer menu is different from the winter menu. Don't the Irish eat during the summer? I understand not offering stew or shepherds pie in July and August but there has to be more than fish and chips that can be added to the menu. The rating is three stars as our server was great - friendly, helpful, and gave us great service. Also, be aware that the booths have no padding what-so-ever - just sitting on wood.

Stopped in on a whim after a long day of sightseeing and so glad we did. This place is fantastic. The decor made me feel as though I was in Dublin, and our waiter Seamus took great care of us. The food was second to none. We had beers and appetizers. We tried the Potato Pierogies, which are mini potato & cheese pierogies with sautéed onions, served with sour cream. They were great, we had never had pierogies with sour cream, but we enjoyed the combination. We also had the mozzarella cheese sticks which were crispy and served with a side of delicious tomato basil for dipping, a great choice. Our favorite of the appetizers we had was the out of this world Southwestern Egg Rolls. They Egg Rolls had chicken, corn, black beans, peppers, onions, and melted cheese within and were served with homemade chipotle ranch dipping sauce which I wish I had the recipe for. Was delighted to see Hoegaarden on draught, and our total for everything was $35. Reasonably priced, delicious, and enjoyable happy hour in the city.
