Have you ever toured a submarine before? Imagined living in close quarters with your crew underwater for months at a time? Visiting the USS Becuna submarine docked beside the museum was a highlight of our visit. You get to see the engine room, the sleeping quarters (some of the crew even slept in the engine room), the officers dogs and how they compared with the other men. It was fascinating and well worth climbing around in.
Learning about the class system at sea on the Olympia was also very interesting. My young sons were enthralled.
