Very small museum across from the Mission. Stopped in on our way to the mission and it was worth the time. Really liked the George Stuart doll collection about the diamond necklace.

This is a very small museum, with only a few rooms of displays. But what they do is very well done. I enjoyed the musical instruments exhibit as well as the historical figures gallery. Admission is very reasonable, especially if you ask for the AAA or student discount. The exhibits change regularly, so I will make a point of stopping by again the next time I am in Ventura.

Located across the street from the Mission, this museum was a surprise find. It had very good exhibits, including one of historical dolls telling a story and a movie about the artist and the making of historically accurate dolls.

Warm welcome - inexpensive entry fee - smart and clean building and displays.
What it did it did very well,
Music, guitars, drum making and some wind instruments. Videos - excellent
External garden and displays needed some TLC and the introduction of bigger bushes and trees - to make it interesting.
The Gallery with a French history diorama was excellent - but only told one story. The models were very good - but where are the rest of the collection of 200....
locked up in the vaults. More could be made making a further display of these models.
Overall good but little local history - better to visit the Ojai Museum 15 miles upcountry.

I love coming here to see the permanent collections and to see various ever-changing new art exhibits.
