I came here looking for a playground for my 6 year old to play on. Online we had read that there were 2 playgrounds, but we never found any. There are several areas of Murray Park, so we could have missed it, but we did a pretty thorough search with no luck. One area has a boat dock area with plenty of parking for trucks and boat trailers. There are steps down to the dock, which really could use some cleaning up. There was no trash can nearby, but if I'd had gloves I would have picked up a little bit. Beer cans, wrappers and other trash all over the dock. Also, there are a few boards missing and others that feel pretty unsteady, so be careful. The view is beautiful though!
There is a soccer field, and a sign that said grass volleyball, but I didn't see any nets set up. Lots of picnic tables, a restroom, and a very nice dog park. There were lots of dogs and their owners in there on a beautiful Saturday. It was a hot day, but it is really well shaded in that area of the park.
We drove a bit further down Rebsamen Road and found another section of Murray Park. It had several nice pavilion areas right along the river. They each had large fireplaces. Geese were everywhere. There was a sand volleyball tournament going on with lots of people on that side of the park. Ample parking and at least one restroom. Again the view was gorgeous from here. No playground that we could see though.
We drove a bit further down to the Big Dam Bridge and Lock and Dam. There were tons of cyclists, runners, and dog walkers. Nice paths, both paved and earthen. It's a great recreation area.
