If you want to be close to Times Square, but away from the traffic, this is a great place to stay. The rooms are small and there are not any views to speak of from the hotel. There was very little street noise. There are several excellent restaurants within walking distance and a little diner down the street towards 6th Avenue that is fine for breakfast or a quick lunch or even dinner. The free coffee and tea and afternoon apple cider is a nice touch. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is somewhat old but fairly well maintained. The room prices are very competitive, particularly given the location. I would stay there again.

Room Tip: The higher the floor, the lower the street noise level, but the hotel is only 12 stories tall.

Barely showing its age, the Iroquois is a great buy on the most expensive street in Midtown. Convenient to theaters and shopping' and if you have any questions, the staff turn somersaults in assistance

This is a charming hotel with a friendly, courteous staff and a classic aesthetic. The location is perfect, one block east of Times Square on 44th Street, so you are not inundated with waves of tourists as you step out of the lobby and, yet, you are surrounded by great restaurants and you are a short walk from the Theatre District- my wife and I had tickets to 'Eclipsed' on the day of our visit- and the other attractions in midtown.

Our room was clean and comfortable with a spacious king size bed; we were actually upgraded to a suite, which was a very pleasant surprise! Complimentary chocolates were delivered to the room and we were treated really well by all of the hotel staff. Drinks and parking was a bit pricey, but not out of line with what one might expect for a Manhattan hotel and the cost of the room (through booking.com) was a bargain.

We would definitely stay here again. It was a great experience!

Dear Dave W,

Thank you so much for your glowing review for your most recent stay at the Iroquois New York. We are thrilled you had such a wonderful time with us and enjoyed our complimentary upgrade to one of our executive suites. James Dean lived in one of those for two years in the beginning of the 1950`s. Did you know that our best rates are on our website? Lovely boutique hotel in a wonderful location. This is our second stay at the Iroquois and we really enjoy the intimate ambiance, well-appointed (on the smaller side) rooms and wonderful staff. You can walk to the theater, bistros, shopping and some top-notch restaurants. A great value for all that it offers.

Three nights stay at The Iroquois on West 44th with wife and 10 y/o son. Quick and friendly check-in by helpful staff made us feel welcome. Our room on 10th floor was modest, clean, and quiet, with two comfy beds. Hotel is on relatively quiet street between Grand Central and Times Square, near Bryant Park. The location is superb -- a short walk to many great restaurants, NY Public Library, Times Square, theaters, 5th Ave shopping, Grand Central Terminal, and subway stations. The lobby library with computer/printer and hotel car service to airport were handy. We plan to stay here again next year.
