Many of the appetizers are dimsum favorites under different names, but available all day. The main courses, in turn, are recombined Chinese standards, such as roast duck with heavy flat noodles.

Taste is variable but generally good, and the restaurant offers a pleasant sidewalk dining experience in warmer weather.

First night in NYC in a long time. Saw this place was a short walk from the hotel. Although it was busy, they squeezed us in without a booking. Really New York friendly, great fruit juices and tasty food at a reasonable price. The kind of place that young people love and older people feel young in. What’s not to like!

The quality of the food is excellent and delicious. It is expensive but definitely it. The alcoholic drinks are also very good.

I visited red farm a couple of years ago and was very impressed. Unfortunately it was not the same spectacular experience this time. Food is good but not exceptional, and It is expensive. The room is small and rather noisy and you Are given the bill Even befare you have finished your dessert

We had such high hopes for our meal at Red Farm; friends had raved and it was well reviewed. Don't be fooled. While their food is good, it is simply not worth the trouble of the experience and the horribly rude wait staff and management.

We showed up on a Saturday night, were told the wait would be an hour, but by some luck they found a two top to put 3 of us at after 10 minutes. Things were looking up, but how wrong we were!

The manager seated us and gave us food menus, and on the back were some drinks. When the waitress came over, we asked about the sake on the back of the food menu, labeled "Sake $10." We asked about it, and she said it was a bottle and was very good, so we ordered one. Then we got another. The food came and it was good, but nothing great (if you want GREAT Chinese food, go to Han Dynasty on 85th...).

When the bill came, we were in shock - the sake bottle our waitress had told us was only $10 (we though it was a great deal!) was actually $65, and we had gotten 2. What we thought was $20 in charges was actually $130. Maybe this was our own naïveté, but here's where things get bad for Red Farm:

First we asked for the manager and asked him about this, telling him our story. He said he'd look into it and got a menu. He then brought over the menu and a wine list. We looked at the wine list and it was the first we were seeing it - they had never brought us one to begin with. We looked at the back of the food list and showed him where it said "sake $10," and his response was disgusting and confusing. He said, "well, first, how could you think a restaurant that has glasses of wine for $15 would have sake bottles for $10. Second, because it says wine by the glass, you're supposed to assume the sake listed on the other side of the page is also by the glass."

We pushed back on this - how could we have made these assumptions? Also, WE ASKED THE WAITRESS AND SHE TOLD US THE WRONG ANSWER. Whether a mistake or not, it was her wrongdoing, and she should have been accountable to some extent. He spoke to the waitress and she denied any wrongdoing. He then offered to take two appetizers off the bill (a mere $25 off, when we overpaid by $110). It was clear we were getting nowhere with him, so we paid and left.

I called the restaurant two days later and spoke to a manager I believe was named Lisa. While friendly on the phone, she put me on hold at least 4 times in the middle of discussing this, which took over 30 minutes. She told me she'd look into this and speak to the Saturday manager and the waitress (she first thought maybe it was a new server, but once she found our check, she was shocked it was an experiences server who "could never have made that mistake."). She told me she'd call me back, and repeated my number to me to ensure it was correct, and it was.

Well, here I am a week later, still without a return phone call or any faith that this restaurant values any of its customers or is willing to admit it made a mistake. AVOID THIS PLACE - it's just not worth it.
