A big glass counter-cabinet shows the dishes on offer: mostly Punjabi-Mughlai cuisine from India-Pakistan. Chicken masala kebabs, Goat masala and kebabs, some spicy vegetable dishes, roti, nan, rice.
Well cooked, quite spicy. Low price; chicken biryani at $ 8/-, 2 vegetable platters at $ 10/-.
Open very late; till 1.00 am, and opens again at 4.30 am for the taxi driver trade. medium grade, bench-type seating.

Their dinner box (choice of veggie or meat) was okay, nothing out of the ordinary. It came with naan, which I did not order but added some $$ to the price. Dining area was mostly clean but looks dated.

This is a fantastic place for late night cravings. Get their Keema Parantha, and sit back, it's going to take a while to get through this mammoth. Other stuff is decent too, and their rotis are always made fresh.

Between the TVs tuned to Geo News, the taxi drivers and policemen coming in and out, and the inexpensive dishes, this place feels a bit like being transported to Pakistan. Decorations are simple but the selection and value are very good -- this is a welcome part of the Manhattan Valley/Morningside Heights ethnic-food landscape.

This restaurant offers great Pakistani/ Indian food in Manhattan, as can be attested by the long line of yellow cabs parked in front at all hours. The seekh kababs are good, as are the naans and haleem and nihari. You get a very authentic experience, with Urdu television (and the occasional cricket match) playing on television. Cabbies crowd the place (they probably provide 80 percent of the custom) and they get a 10 percent discount. While the decor is garish, the staff are well-intentioned. Avoid the bathroom, though. And make sure not to trip over someone praying -- the way to the bathroom is also the alcove in which Muslim diners can opt to face Mecca and say their daily prayers if its time.
