Description: Experience a unique French private dinner in a "Boutique" restaurant. On the top of the regular menu, each day we create a three-course dinner and other specials with products selected daily from local markets and organic farmers to ensure a "home style cuisine". Foie gras, oysters, escargots, pate maison, filet mignon sauce au poivre, tartares..... Considered by Harlemites as a second home, come feel the warmth created by the piano, dine by the fireplace and enjoy our cozy sofas. Maybe you prefer our big family table, the romantic "top-rated" garden or the terrace on Lenox Avenue, you will always feel at home at "Cheri". Live music almost every day. Last moment idea. Jumped on M1 bus on Madison near Met and shortly we walked the Harlem discovering several little restaurants. We chose CHERI. I really wanted Maroccan gazpacho but I settled for cold tomato/garlic Provencal soup of the day. Followed by the tenderloin with poivre sauce and perfectly french crisped potatoes.
Small place, but very friendly staff and really good food.

Cheri is a beautiful little place with a short, somewhat odd menu. Not just because the menus are French novels with the menu pasted into first few pages, but also the food - like burger with pate (the pate comes on the side) and for some reason you can never get eggs except at brunch. But it's always a nice experience. It can be hard to get a table for brunch but nice if you can. It's the best in summer when the outdoor area in front is set up - comfy and so romantic.

This small but charming French restaurant south of 125th Street in Harlem is a worthy destination. The service is attentive, and the food is (mostly) good. In warmer months, there is a nice garden open for dining in the back. The main problem: parking (we found street parking, but there wasn't much available).

We ate here about a week ago and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Lovely atmosphere, excellent service and good food. On the expensive side for us from the UK but medium for New York. Would certainly recommend. And we were found a table even though we hadn't booked.

We were visiting Cheri in the evening for dinner. It was good but by far not excellent, maybe I expected too much... The food was good given the price level, but do not expect any magic or creativity. I also expected a real wine list for bottled wines at this place or a better selection of wines.

To summarise:
Was it a nice evening with good food? Yes.
Would we come back? No...
