“Best view of the city”
Reviewed 5 March 2012

This is really the building to get to the top if you want to have the best panoramic view of the city. I always bring out of town visitors there, instead of going to the Empire State building. I don't believe many people are willing to pay twice to have a view of the city. Remember, you cannot see the building you are on the top. If you want to see Empire State building as part of the panoramic view, Top of the Rock is the choice.

“It's so worth your time!”

And the line moves quickly! It has two or three viewing decks, so you never feel to crammed or hurried to move out of the way for someone else to see.

“Great View”
Reviewed 5 March 2012

Best thing about Top of the Rock? Unlike the Empire State Building (which also has great views, but long lines), you can see The Empire State Building! The lines go quickly and the intro video in actually interesting. The Elevator ride up is, in and of itself, an awesome ride. From the top the views are amazing and include ALL of the iconic NYC sites, unlike the Empire State Building which, due to physics, excludes one of the most iconic sites.

Unlike the Empire State Building the Top of the Rock was not crowded and the panoramic views were endless.

“Great view and streamlined process - no waiting!!”
Reviewed 5 March 2012

We read reviews that suggested visiting the Top of the Rock Observation Deck instead of the Empire State Building. The tickets are $25 per person, but you can get a coupon in one of the tourist books in the airport. They offer a map of the view for $2.

The process is seemless. They have staff everywhere to help direct you. Even though at times the lines look long, they go fast! Word of advice, there are 3 levels. 1st level surrounded by glass, 2nd level surrounded by glass, 3rd level (walk up stairs) no glass. Take all your pics from the 3rd level for the least obstruction.
