Description: Shortly after the original Sant Ambroeus opened its doors in Milan in 1936, a devoted following emerged. This celebrated pasticceria and confetteria became the meeting place for the local intelligentsia, whether beginning their day with Sant Ambroeus’s legendary cappuccino and cornetto, savoring panini at lunch, or spending their evening enjoying refined cuisine in the restaurant’s elegant dining room. We translated these old-world sensibilities of Sant Ambroeus to modern times, and imported our rich culinary traditions to New York. Each of our restaurants remains authentic to our Milanese origins, and we continue to serve our culturally inspired delectables in a casual yet elegant environment.

As a whole the experience was better than expectation. I like the ambiance, the people staying in there and the food is very delicious. I will come here again.

We found Sant Ambroeus on our walk along Madison Ave and decided to stop in to eat. All of our dishes were tasty. I had a classic spaghetti and loved it. The staff kindly stored our stroller and were so sweet when joking with the 4 year old in our group. They even gave her a delicious cookie when we left!

I stoppedby Sant Ambroeus for an Italian coffee and a sweet roll during my walk this afternoon.

Service was prompt and very friendly; the coffee was perfectly made, with a wonderful aroma of freshly roasted beans; and the Italian pastry was perfect for dipping.

There are half a dozen of these coffee shops in the chain, and each one is a great pleasure to visit.

About as close as one can get to an authentic Italian coffee bar in New York City. Excellent cappuccino but comes at a fairly steep price. Also serves good breakfast and lunch fare.

We stopped in for lunch after visiting the Met. No reservations but the staff accommodated us quickly. Service a bit brusque but food was delicious (and pricy!). Desserts were amazing. All in all a special treat but be prepared to pay!
