Have been going to Great Jones Cafe for years. Must have my wonderful Great Jones Sazerac and fried oysters every so often. That's classic New Orleans fare but Great Jones is a lot closer than New Orleans and just as good (if not better). A tiny place that is a true New Yorker's secret. Some call it a "dive," some call it a neighborhood gem, I call it always good, always friendly and always unusually reasonably priced for NYC these days. It might not be right for everyone, but I recommend it to everyone anyway.

The place is quite small and dressed in colored lights and has a pleasant and relaxed feel to it. Staff is friendly and efficient. The jambalaya is excellent.

Great place to stop by for a quick bite to eat!

I can't describe how much i loved this place! As a lone traveller i me here 3 times in one week for the food but also for the friendly staff, great bar-side banter and POTENT margaritas.

Food is affordable and has the slight home cooked cozy feel about it. The chicken wings will ruin all your other chicken wings experiences for you!

Cant recommend it enough. CORNBREAD!!!!!!

We stumbled upon this gem by accident and what a wonderful accident it was! We were walking by looking for pizza but when we smelled the burgers coming out of the exhaust outside of the restaurant we HAD to go inside. It's a small, cool spot that has an authentic NOLA vibe to it.

We ordered a bacon cheeseburger and it was out of this world!! So juicy, cooked to perfection. It was such a delight. Nice brew selection as well. I would absolutely recommend and I would stop by again!

This is a small informal price. The brunch menu has about 7 items, all intriguing rich southern food. The smothered eggs were scrambled eggs and ham over a biscuit with gravy and cheddar grits. Though it sound sinfully delicious, it was just ok in terms of flavor. The pulled pork was a standout with gray flavor. The Cajun bloody Mary's were good. Prices were certainly fair at about $12-14 per entree.
