Unfortunately Remi is not that popular in New York but it's also a great thing because you do not have to worry about a long wait. The restaurant is quite large but relaxing and simple. The food was great (pasta, steak, salad), but the service was amazing. Free cookies and champagne were given to us and were a great touch to the end of our diner. Next time in the city we will defiantly go back!

If you happen to be in the area of Radio City Music Hall and want an excellent dining experience, I would whole hardheartedly recommend Remi. My friends and I stumbled on this gem because it is tucked away on 53rd Street and easy to miss. They have happy hour every weekday and in the summer you can enjoy your libation outside. When you enter the restaurant you can't help but take a deep breath. It is filled with beautiful murals of italy, even on the ceiling. If you have a party of four they have lovely tables by the windows, but not much of a view. With two people they tend to seat you at the long bench seating with one chair across from you. It is still nice but you can't help but see what your neighbors are eating. For outgoing folks like us, we love it and have had many delightful conversations and been given menu recommendations from our new found friends on each side of us. After ordering a drink, they bring out a complimentary appetizer that is ricotta cheese covered with hot homemade red sauce. With a bread basket full of crusty italian bread and bread sticks it is hard not to inhale it all. I have even made this at home for parties with great success. All of their pasta is excellent, my sister ordered salmon and raved. After dinner drinks arrive in "vats". In fact after one amareto I had trouble remembering what songs Brian Stokes Mitchel sang with the Boston Pops. Wait staff has always been good and it is one of my top three restaurants to hit on a regular trip to the big apple.

Three of us carried on a very confidential, somewhat lengthy, and personal business dinner here and the staff were highly responsive to the unique needs for this meal. Great food ... appreciated the service and the setting, especially on a dreary, wintery day!

Well prepared and surprisingly generous portions on the menu.
We were somewhat late for lunch and the coffee served was luke warm and stale.
The waiter said he would get us fresh coffee but what we got was clearly the same stale coffee re-heated.
We'd go back for the food but would insist on freshly made coffee or go to Starbucks.

Remi has a great fixed price lunch. It also has polite and good service. Perfect before or after theater visits or in the summer on the terrace.
