A NYC landmark and a pre-theater tradition! The service is excellent, with someone always filling your water glass or bringing you bread. We had the Frech Onion soup which was very good on a bitter cold night. Also had the mozzarella and tomato which was a little sparse. Our entrees- a chicken special and scallops- were both very good. We were too full for dessert but they looked very good. Of course you need to check out the sketches and try to figure out who each one is.

Seriously, having been in existence for nearly 100 years you'd think they know something about cooking and serving, they don't! Inattentive, no smiles or personality and aloof! The food is awful! Just awful!

We stopped in for drinks before the theater and enjoyed the classic bar service. Jeremy was friendly and welcoming. Drinks were well made and relatively reasonable for NYC! As a snack, The Cheese and Crackers are nothing fancy, but a throwback classic—just plain Ritz Crackers with spreadable Cheese Spread! Comfort food!

The food is meh. Wasn't thrilled with the restaurant's menu. The only cool part aboutvthisbplace is they have the place covered in characatures and signed pictures of significant broadway personalities. The main issue I had (and it seems most people comment on) is you can't read the autographs and the artwork you'd be hard pressed to know who they are. The restaurant (if you're reading this review) should put names under or on the pics so the patrons can tell who they are. Your wait staff doesn't even know when you ask them. Kinda stinks. Anyway it is convenient for pre and post theatre. A cool place to check out for Uber thespians. But I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for an out of this world meal.

We were there for a Pre-Theater dinner on December 29th. We tried to secure a reservation, but were not that lucky. When we arrived around 6pm (secret, that is the magic time) we had to wait about 10 minutes and were seated on the first floor in an excellent table. The place is gorgeous and you feel like you have stepped back in time to an era gone by. We had the shrimp and crab entree as an appetizer and split it and the Sardi's famous garlic shrimp and split that as well. With the hearty and generous portions of their GREAT bread, it was enough food. We then enjoyed cappacino's with their signature dessert, strawberry cream cake. It was crazy good. We were done in plenty of time for an 8pm show and just loved the experience of being where so many wonderful broadway notables have been before us,
