I visited Gotham Bar and Grill in New York with my family in August 2016. Our experience was just exquisite.
Starting with the restaurant itself - The tables are quite squashed together but in my opinion the close proximity of the tables gave the restaurant a certain ambiance that I enjoyed.
The food was absolutely up to standard, the plating was extremely beautiful and luxurious. The food itself was also outstanding.( I strongly recommend trying the New York Steak).
The service was good - the waiters and waitresses were all extremely polite and knowledgeable.
Our overall experience was fantastic and we will definitely be visiting again and recommend this place to anyone looking for a truly exquisite dining experience.

We came early a managed to sit at the bar and have a drink before being seated. Our server Robert was very professional and also a funny wit about him I really enjoyed. Ok the food is so darn good. For my starter I had the Seared Hudson Valley Foie Gras, wow was it good. For Dinner I choose the Miso Marinated Black Cod with bok choy, shitake mushrooms, sticky rice and the best part...soy lemongrass ginger sauce. I also sampled my friends Lamb dish and I just had to takes his bones and clean them, best lamb I've ever tasted. $$$$ so don't be surprised, it's worth it.

Been going for years...forgot it was restaurant week...Server was sarcastic and stepped on my toe twice. When I said something, she answered, "Oh, I thought it was the base of the table."...no apology, etc.

We had 3 courses and the famous chocolate cake as a dessert. The steak (third course) was really good. The tortellini and the foie gras had absolutely no taste at all.
The service are really excellent - they really try! The wines - served as glass - was medium (vs price).
European restaurants are just MUCH better. Send the chef and his chefs to restaurants in Europe. The waiters are excellent!! (Sorry)
We had a splendid evening even the food was not that good!

Had a reservation for 2 on Sunday evening. Had heard great things about their burger, but it wasn't on the dinner menu. I was told that thy served the burger at the bar, so we moved to the bar, which was actually really awesome. Very comfortable and spacious and had a wonderful view of the entire restaurant - and essentially had the bar to ourselves. Ended up ordering the burger along with the Thai lobster. The burger was good, but in a city of great burgers it didn't stand out. The lobster on the other hand was perfect. Good size serving and the Thai sauce they used really worked well.

Really great experience that I would highly recommend.
