Description: Located in the New York landmarked Hotel Des Artistes, and surrounded by the astonishing 1920s murals by Howard Chandler Christy, THE LEOPARD at des Artistes finds its roots in the area once known as “The Kingdom of the Two Sicilies” (mid 1800s) and in the culinary traditions of the regions of Campania, Basilicata, Calabria, Apulia, Sardinia, and of course Sicily, reaching a balance between dishes based on rural elements, such as pasta, vegetables, cheese, and seafood ingredients from the Costiera.

Excellent food in pleasant setting. Restaurant is bit noisy in certain sections. Service was actually too efficient. We were served quickly. Food was fresh and hot, but although we didn't feel rushed, it was not a leisurely fine dining experience.

Everything from the room to the food to the service combined for a wonderful experience. A historic setting and soulful Italian food, way beyond the predictable dishes you could find everywhere. Quality ingredients and serious technique. Still walkable to Lincoln Center and definitely worth considering if you are going there. Service friendly and professional. This is not casual, if you are not dressed nicely you will and should feel out of place. Not inexpensive, but worth it.

The place is adorned with. The old cafe. Des artistes murals of scantily clad beautiful women and fr Sy flowers. Very festive with an excellent prix fixe menu and superb regular menu. They do exciting salads, perfectly. Prepared pasta and properly prepared and served fish. Service is professional and you feel very well taken care of. Great for special occasions

This little hidden gem is in a neighborhood, a short distance away from the Lincoln Center, and it was completely worth going off the beaten path. The service was impeccable and the food was divine. We each had the 4 course meal and each plate was scrumptious and the server paired the wine for us. The restaurant was tastefully decorated and had a luxurious feel to it. I loved the bookcases in the restrooms-nice eclectic touch. I will be sure to go back again when I'm in NYC.

Dinner at The Leopard is a real pleasure - amazing food, beautiful muted atmosphere, attentive, expert service and it draws a fascinating local clientele for whom this very special place is just a neighborhood restaurant. To add to your enjoyment of an evening at The Leopard, read up on its history and the story behind the gorgeous murals that surround you as you dine. Amazing, authentic New York spot.
