Searched this spot out across from the Flat Iron Building. An unassuming entrance opens into a cavernous interior. Ok everything Italian! Wine, olive oil, pasta, fresh fish, cheese, gelato...on and on. I think there are SIX different restaurants under one roof. Who can choose? But choose we must so we took the elevator to the 14th floor then climbed stairs for two more and were transported to SABBIA. It was crazy! An Italian beach party with umbrellas and rooftop views of the Flat Iron. Packed with people the bar was slammin'. But don't be put off. After a short wait for a table we were soon enjoying excellent sea bass and wagyu steak with Italian rose. You gotta go!

Our family recently returned to Manhattan for a wedding and went directly to Eataly in the original Toy Center at 23rd and Fifth opposite the iconic Flatiron Building. It was early evening, the place was jumping so we immediately made arrangements to secure a table for the six of us, including two small ones, ages four and six. The service was pleasant and focused on us considering the swirl of activity surrounding the section. It's great to sit in a place where there are aisles of packaged food on display and people shopping the wares while we indulged. We enjoyed a wide selection of pastas for the kids, delicious thin crust Margherita pizza, a rustic salad (insulate di Rucola), capriccios, tartufella along with a bottle of Prosecco and a couple of Negronis for the adults. It was yummy! If you're in Manhattan and looking for energetic hub of activity and a wide variety of food to sample or go face down in, Eataly is it.

My white from Piedmont lubricated the passage of the mackerel on toast to culinary bliss. Of course starting with piping hot soft shell crabs with roasted ramps paved the way. As always tasty food with courteous and rapid service.

We ate at Eataly at 4 World Trade Center.

From the moment we entered the place it was an adventure. The place was packed so we knew the food must be good.

We wandered around the place, just looking around. We made our way to the back and found a demonstration where they were making homemade mozzarella. The demonstration was informative and fascinating. And I can assure you it was the best mozzarella I have ever eaten!

After the mozzarella demo, we wandered around and watched pizzas being made. Then wandered to the pasta station. After those two stations we decided we wanted pasta and pizza. We were able to sit right at the pasta bar and watched our pasta dish being made. The pasta and the pizza were both delicious!!

I highly recommend eating at Eataly!!
