Thanks to a business to New York I had opportunity to stay at Cassa Hotel at 70 W. 45th St. Frankly I'd forgotten what real hotel service was like and to my delight they've reminded me. The hotel is tucked away among the corporate buildings but you don't want to miss it. It's clean, modernly and fashionably furnished, thoughtful amenities, sizeable bathrooms and excellent service. A doorman actually helped with my luggage while keeping up engaging and personal dialogue. Menus and information were easily accessed. Help arrived within if not seconds for the slightest request. Then of course the location is perfection with minutes walking access to everything you want to see mid town, trains, shopping, restaurants etc.. I'm coming back to Cassa hotel on my own dime...that's how good it was!

We travelled here in early 2011, when the Cassa Hotel was just opening up. Because of this we got an amazing deal on the hotel and were blown away by the rooms, the view and the service.

The concierge was amazing and helped us arrange all of our shows and sites with no hassle whatsoever. The location is unbeatable, a short walk to Times Square and to all the public transport and amenities you need on Manhattan. We would love to stay here again if we could, but i don't know if the regular rates are in our price range for a weekend away in the Big Apple.

Bottom line: if you do find a good deal on rates (or if you can afford the price-tag) you would not be disappointed staying at Cassa on your next trip to NYC.

Room Tip: Try to get a south facing view if you can... unbelievable.

This is a great hotel. Excellent location, quiet but very central. We loved everything about the stay. The staff was nice and helpful. I needed help to locate a suitcase and they could not have done more to help me.

I personally think the rooms are decent size for Manhattan. Stayed in a standard room on 15th floor facing the backyard, and had plenty of space although the bed was not large. The bathroom is simple but done to a high standard with Frette towels and linens. The restaurant is under refurbishment, and the 'Tapas Bar' on 10th floor double as a breakfast room and certainly feels more like the latter - a bit cold, underfurnished and uninviting, although the terrace might be nice in the summer. Please bear in mind that most restaurants in the area are quite touristy.

Would definitely consider Cassa again if we are staying in mid-town.

As others say, tremendous locationjust off 5th Avenue and very close to Time Square, walking distance for many iconic places and shopping. Staff very helpful, espaecially concierge Eric who sorted several things including ice hockey with a big smile. No real eating facilities but lots of good cafes and restaurants close by, including Cranberry cafe which is used by NYPD and locals. Within Cassa Hotel there is an American brasserie waiting to open dependong on liquor licence. Rooms are quite small but the beds and shower are amongst the best we have had in any hotel for comfort and hot water. Weather was good in New York when we were ther Feb 11-14, otherwise might have been a bit short of hotel comfort as no real relaxation area. For a city break however, this was great.

Room Tip: Rooms at back of hotel are noise free re traffic
