We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chelsea Pine Inn when moving our son into college nearby. Room was large and service was great. We will definitely stay here again. Wish breakfast started a little earlier, but the food was good.

I want to call out the staff, they were friendly and helpful in every way.

We stayed in the "Hide Away" suite. The decor would benefit from some refurbishment. (Maybe decor is your thing?) We appreciated it for the sheer SPACE, holey moley! The suite is 3x larger than our first apartment, with a private outdoor area, full kitchen, large dining area, living room, sleeping area, BIG! walk-in closet, full bathroom with enough space (2 sinks, shower, private bathroom) for multiple people to get ready at the same time. It's an incredible amount of space, especially for Manhattan.

Room tip: NO ELEVATOR. All the rooms are up or down some flights of stairs.

Nice tiny inn in Chelsea. Perfect location next to Chelsea Market and High Line, and close to metro. No elevator - we were on the 5th floor! (we were warned in advance). Air conditioning was only barely able to keep up with the heat at that height, and the bathroom was quite hot (it has a sunroom which I'm sure will be lovely in winter, but not so great in August). We were in the Rock Hudson room - his face looms over the master bed and in the bathroom, which may be disconcerting to some. Breakfast was nice with good selection of fruit, cereal, bread, yoghurt, etc, and front office staff (with one exception) was very helpful.

Thank you Sam for a lovely review. We are glad to read you enjoyed your stay here not only in the chelsea area but with the CPI family as well. Chelsea Market is a great place to visit any time of day especially if you love a plethora of food options. We would love to have you try our other room types for your continued liking. Thank you again!

Negatives first - the carpets are not vacuumed. I checked into my room after a long journey, kicked off my shoes, and immediately stepped on something squishy - somebody's dirty sock was lying on the carpet (I guess it could have been worse). I later spotted a plastic fastener lying undisturbed in the pile. There is no bedside light provided - lights hang down from the roof directly above the pillows which makes it hard to relax if you're old school and like to read at night. OK now the positives - amazing value for the location, and you could spend an hour looking at all the fabulous movie-star posters decorating the stairwell. There's a lovely complementary breakfast with delicious fresh fruit, homemade bread, and good coffee, and a nice outside space to sit and be happy.
