I found this hotel to be just what I was looking for. It was quite, the employess were fun and it looked like they liked what they did and had fun with it. I never saw one employee not smiling which is refreshing. I stayed over the weekend and it was perfect! I will definitely go back. I live in the tri-state area but like to get out of my everyday routine. Gild Hall is a place worth staying at. Thank you for a great weekend hope to see you guys soon.

I recently stayed here for the second time during a weekend in the city and would recommend it to everyone. The location is great and just a short walk to the subway. The decor of the hotel is unique and very quiet. The rooms are a very good size and extremely clean. Also of importance to me, the beds and pillows are super comfortable, which is often rare. The staff are friendly and very accommodating. Nothing but good things to say about this location!

Recently stayed here for a business trip. While I enjoyed the quietness of Gild Hall vs other financial district hotesl that are near the WTC construction site, I was disappointed in little things missing that would have made my stay more enjoyable, amenities I have grown used to having even in economy hotels. First off, there are no down pillows, I spent the entire night trying to get comfortable on a styrofoam filled pillow. Secondly, there are no inroom coffee makers. Additionally, there are no inroom irons/ironing boards, almost a necessity when trying to press a suit that has traveled in your small carryon luggage.

Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry for the confusion. Each room is supplied with four luxurious down pillows. We prefer to press your cloths and make your coffee for you but I will enter a note in our system to have an Iron and board waiting for you the next time you check in.
We look forward to welcoming you back.

I've stayed in the Gild Hall several times, and have to say I was deeply disappointed this time. The hotel is effectively shut at the weekend, so all they are selling you is a bedroom (at not inconsiderable cost). As always at the Gild Hall, the room was nice - comfortably and fashionably furnished is a sort of 'leather and dark wood generic American boutique hotel' sort of way; not imaginative - just that sort of US Luxe look that you see on makeover shows. It's cute that they provide an in-house magazine worth reading - but frankly I'd rather they actually OPENED the hotel properly at the weekend. They don't provide breakfast (unless you count a mount of cheap muffins and other sugar-based substances as 'breakfast'. It's 'continental only' at the weekend - served casually on a table in an un-lit corner of the bar / reception area). Frankly, it's depressing. You're made to feel like you are staying over in a boarding school after everyone else has left. To get a hot breakfast i had to go find a local diner - OK for what it was, but after spending to be in a luxurious hotel, don't expect to breakfast in a diner with the hobos. There's no room service either (the front desk provided takeaway menus, which was kind of them, but again not really a solution). The worst element is that (presumably in order to save electricity / the planet) they only light a tiny part of the reception area - leaving the (shut) ground floor / first floor bars and the restaurant in darkness - which adds to the feeling that you're not welcome. In it's favour, it's close to Fulton Street subway, and Century 21, the location has atmosphere and it's not that expensive. But Thompson Hotels big themselves up as the coolest thing since sliced bread. This place lacks the fundamental hospitality I expect of a hotel, anywhere in the world at any time of the week. It's NOT MY FAULT it's the weekend. If they don't want to run a hotel at the weekend they should just shut down Friday thru Sunday. Never again.

I am sorry that you did not enjoy our continental breakfast or have a chance to enjoy the Libertine Bar that is also open on Saturday and Sunday. I do appreciate your feedback so please contact me at the hotel so I may address your concerns in person.

Kind Regards,

I have stayed at this property a few times now for both business and pleasure. It is located in the downtown/financial district but easily accesible to the subway. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are extremely clean, decor is chic, the ceilings are high and the rooms are quite large for NYC. The TV is large and the bed is incredibly comfortable. I used to live in the city and have stayed at many properties in the area and have to say that the hotel offers very large accomodating rooms. Their pricing is great on the weekends. I always have a wonderful experience at this property and certainly recommend it friends, family and coworkers.
