“Great red-rock country views”
Reviewed 3 September 2008

Looking for a peaceful experience with a panorama view of red-rock canyons and cliffs, deep blue skies, and quiet from your patio/balcony...that's what you will get at this Best Western. Capitol Reef National Park is down the road a few miles, to the east; over the hill to the west is the Utah town of Torrey with great places to dine. You are central to some of the most beautiful country in the West. There is a great dining room at the motel and a young friendly staff to serve you. If you are traveling, east or west on I-70; take time to swing south to visit Torrey and stay at the Best Western for the view and restful experience. See you there...

Torrey, UT is a town of 200 people so there isn't much around other than the hotels and a few restaurants. This hotel was close to the entrance of Capitol Reef. The front desk staff were friendly when we checked in. Our room was accessed on a first level and had a balcony on the rear that overlooked the landscape. The rooms were large enough but the cleaning product used was very strong and it seems that flies must sit in waiting as you unpack your car because we had several in our room. Our air conditioner did not work properly (only half of the unit was working). A maintenance person looked at it but could not do any repairs until the next day. There was no offer to move us to another room but we didn't press them. The room took forever to get cool and it was very warm out the day we were there, I'd say this is an ok property and probably one of the best hotels to choose for a stay in this area.

A nice hotel, two storeys high just outside Capitol Reef NP.
We chose this one because of its location and the pool.
I'm glad we did because this was one of the three pools we used during a 20 day trip.
Large pool, sunbeds, chairs, tables; watertemperature was perfect and there were lots of guests who probably thought the same.

Checkin was quick, i got a nice discount and also my wish for a ground floor room was granted.
Free wifi in the room and a guest computer in the (small) lobby.

The room was OK, fitting our needs, with a nice balcony facing the rocks op Capitol Reef.
Pity that housekeeping did not clean very well, we found some clipped nails there from a previous guest....

Breakfast was not included.
For dinner, we crossed the street to a diner (Rim Rock Patio) that belongs to the restaurant a little further down the road .
Parking precisely in front of our room.

We (family with two daughters 12 and 10) spent one night here in July while visiting the National Parks in Utah.

It has great location for Capitol Reef going to Bryce/Zion (or other way around) and the views from the hotel are stunning.

OK pool and clean (although very standard level) rooms.

Avoid the breakfast where service is slow and food mediocre.

This hotel is very clean; the rooms are comfortable and the staff friendly. The view from the balcony in our room was just awesome! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
