Description: Oceana Coastal Kitchen is the vibrant, signature restaurant inside the Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa on San Diego’s Mission Bay. Opened in 2015, Oceana embraces fresh California flavors and a modern, marine-inspired design – including a quartz-topped cold bar embedded with mother-of-pearl and sea glass, an 800-gallon aquarium stocked with tropical jellyfish, and an outdoor patio that opens to panoramic views of the bay. Executive Chef Steven Riemer leads the kitchen and pays close attention to the use of high-quality, sustainable ingredients. Prior to Oceana, Riemer worked alongside The Lodge at Torrey Pines’ heralded Executive Chef Jeff Jackson for eight years, and he has cooked at the James Beard House in New York City and the Ritz-Carlton in Laguna Niguel. Oceana offers breakfast, lunch and dinner service with highlights including Sea of Cortez Scallops, Two Duck Risotto and more. Throughout the day visitors can also opt to sit at the cold bar, where handcrafted sushi is made before guests’ eyes. On Sundays, Oceana’s buffet-style brunch includes seemingly endless options like smoked salmon, fresh fruits, pastries and champagne. On Mondays and Tuesdays, guests can find flatbreads, sushi and craft cocktails for just $9 during happy hour. On Wednesdays, live music and $2 off craft beer is available throughout the evening, while Thursdays feature half-price bottles of wine on the menu.

Bit overpriced as one should expect from a resort. Appetizers were very tasty. Crab was well prepared and chilled. Portion sizes for sharable appetizers are on the small side. Drinks were balanced and made well. Outdoor seating is nicely shaded near koi pond. Only downside to outdoor seating is the high traffic to and from the hotel. Awesome staff. Overall a nice experience.

You had me at jellyfish tank! Handsome dining room, lively patio, great views. I had the sea bass and my daughter had the halibut. The shrimp ceviche was a tasty small portion ... and the clams & mussels were presented in a fantastic white wine butter sauce. Try the orange-scented biscuits, too! My only knock on this place is that it IS a bit pricey ... but the free valet (from the Catamaran) soothes the sting.

We really enjoyed breakfast here as a family. The Brioche French Toast is amazing. We came one for dinner and wasn't crazy about the menu and prices. Go for breakfast, but look elsewhere in area for dinner.

It's convenient for who is staying at Catamaran, but is not worth it. Very expensive and not very tasty. The view is beautiful, but that's all.

A good spot for Sunday Brunch. Outside seating with a view of the bay. Available till 2pm but I felt they served us past that time. The buffet part of the brunch is as extensive as I've experienced in other places but it has the main highlights-unlimited crab, oysters, shrimp, sushi, salads, deserts, fruit, pastries.
Then you can pick one main entree from a selection. The chicken was fabulous as were the duck chilaquiles. The champagne was endless and the staff was excellent at keeping it flowing!!!
I recommend this spot!
