The room was nice and the bed was comfortable. No really outside noise pollution to interfere with sleeping or anything else. The fridge had a ticking sound but did work and didn’t seem to bother us. To bad they didn’t offer a real breakfast like they used to.More

The staff was very polite. The location was good. The rooms were spacious. Covid doesn’t allow much for breakfast. Beds were comfortable and the pillows were good. Lots of restaurants and shopping nearby.

Rooms smelled like smoke and carpet was dirty. Requested room cleaning and they said they only do it every 5 days due to covid. No one came to pick up the trash. Continental breakfast is not included, they give you a granola and a water bottle.

I'm an older guy and i checked into this hotel last week and couldn't find my room. The staff there helped me find my room and insert my room key. Funny story is that i had to go back to the front desk and ask her name because i felt so appreciative of her, well she wrote her name down for me and then i lost the card. Long story short i found the card and her name is Lynnae. She was so sweet and patient with me and i just want to thank her for her kindness

I stayed here for a week and really liked Mirielle (General Manager), Nala (Front Desk Manager), Lucia (Front Desk), and Adolpo (Head of Maintenance). The rooms were also very nice in my opinion, and are appropriate to the price. I also stayed at the Western Inn in Old Town for a night, and in comparison to that Hotel, Howard Johnson in 10 times better.

Pros:
-Staff were very friendly
-We liked the minifridge and microwave in room
-Breakfast had a waffle iron- always a plus! They also had bread, juice, yogurt, pastries, cereal and (frozen) hard boiled eggs. The coffee was terrible though- more like coffee-scented water.
-Convenient location to many of SD's attractions
-Price was good
-The beds were comfy
Cons:
-The area seems a bit sketchy. We were given a room on the side of the motel that has a separate parking lot. There were a lot of homeless men hanging around- some friendly and some a bit creepy.
-VERY noisy. The walls are super thin so we could hear our neighbors as if they were in our own room. It's also right under the flight path from SD's airport, so we heard lots of planes.
-The room wasn't particularly clean
I didn't love it but for the price I'd probably stay there again.
