Overview:
Second stay at this very good Marriott property adjacent to San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter and directly across from the San Diego Padres’ excellent PETCO Park. This is a modern property with nice lobby, great rooftop bar, reasonably updated and well-appointed rooms at good price point, and excellent staff & service.
Recommended for Gaslamp hotel within brief walk of Gaslamp restaurants & bars, as well as the Convention Center, Seaport Village and Harbor, and as great spot for home base if attending game(s) at PETCO Park. Very good choice for business or touring.
Check in & Front Desk:
Easy check in. The team was fast, friendly, thanked me for Marriott status and easily accommodated request for high room with view of PETCO Park and Bay Bridge. Parked with valet; and bell staff was also great. I might suggest valet park as street can be blocked and crowded on game day / game night. The Front Desk team was great. They, and concierge, provided solid recommendations for restaurants within walking distance, e.g., Greystone, Puesto, Don Chido (all reviewed separately), and Broken Yolk (my must do bfast diner when in San Diego) is right around corner.
Room:
High floor room with great view over PETCO Park and out to Coronado-San Diego Bay Bridge and SD Bay. Room included two queen beds, desk, wing back chair & side table, credenza / dresser with flat screen tv. Clean, with linens, carpets, furnishing, and decor...Overview:

Room:
High floor room with great view over PETCO Park and out to Coronado-San Diego Bay Bridge and SD Bay. Room included two queen beds, desk, wing back chair & side table, credenza / dresser with flat screen tv. Clean, with linens, carpets, furnishing, and decor in good order. Reasonably if not lavishly well appointed; though lack of mini bar was disappointing.
Bath was well appointed, and relatively new; if, as with room, showing a touch in need of update. Single sink vanity. No separate WC, and shower / bath combo. But, all clean, in great shape. Some sundries, etc. All in all fine, not as lux as some of the properties along harbor, but just fine.
Location:
As noted, the property is adjacent to Gaslamp and directly across from PETCO Park. This is great if those are on your itinerary; for example, many good to very good, and some excellent, restaurants within walking distance, many bars and nightspots in same area, and many spots serving baseball fans. That said, can be a bit crowded and noisy given those; so, just bear in mind, so with the flow and enjoy. For touring, easy to get anywhere near San Diego downtown, Balboa Park, San Diego Bay, etc. in mere minutes. And, as noted, the Convention Center, Seaport, etc. are a brief walk away.More
