The sandwiches are delicious, albeit a little overpriced (~$7 for a small and ~$11 for a large, and that's without chips/soda). The place is pretty cool too- small with like a Coney Island beach/carnival feel to it. However, worse service ever. Not only does it normally take 15-20 to make a sandwich, but the people are really snobbish and unwelcoming. Last time I was there I called in my order ahead, because I was going to get it to-go and I know they take forever, and the chick was talking on her phone at the desk. It took 5 min for her to even acknowledge my presence in the restaurant, then she proceeded to ignore me for 15 min, which is when I just left. The kicker is that I was the only customer, the sandwich was wrapped and sitting on the counter next to her and there was someone in the back doing nothing the whole time. Not that it's hard to swipe a card with one hand while on the phone. This behavior's pretty indicative of the normal service there too. They always act like it's some huge burden for them to take an order and they give off really negative vibes. I kept putting up with it just because they're close by and the food's great, but it's no longer worth it for me to be pissed off every time I leave. Plus Rosario's pizza has great, cheaper subs one block south.

This sub shop is the best, and Im not kidding! Get big bang for your buck here at this delicious little place. Subs range from around 5-9 dollars, and they have very good soup as well. The portion sizes are very generous as well! I would recommend a 1/2 sandwich unless you are 6 foot 2 and 250 pounds like my dad is, then you will be able to finish it. The whole sandwich is like a whole loaf of bread to yourself. The bread was the softest sandwich I have had at a sub shop, and all the ingredients were fresh and tasty! A+ service, A+ food here at the Rubicon Deli! And, for all you beach goers, its only 2 blocks from the beach!
