Great tour! We went to Mt Soledad and saw the Veteran's Memorial and also the view from there. Two of us went to Torrey Pines and saw the golf course and the place where people hand glide. Then we ate lunch at La Jolla (Girard's Cafe). There is a coupon for a free cookie with the purchase of a sandwich on-line. Then we toured the waterfront of La Jolla with Tim and the other seven people in our group. We saw sea lions. The bus driver was very friendly and a careful driver. Tim was also very friendly and very knowledgeable. My friend wished that a bottle of water would be provide during the tour, so you might want to bring one with you.
My friend and I were worried about taking the Blue Line Trolley to the Santa Fe stop to meet Tim, so Tim picked us up at the hotel with his own car. At the end of the tour, the bus driver dropped the other seven people off at their hotel. Then we got in Tim's car and he drove to Little Italy to show us where to get off the Blue Line and how to get to the Little Italy Farmer's Market. Then he took us to Old Town and parked his car. We walked to the Transit Center and he showed us how to buy tickets for the Blue Line Trolley, showed us which line was the Blue Line and how to board that trolley, and also showed and explained the map for the Blue Line Trolley. Then he took us to our hotel. We were so relieved to know how to use the trolley. We used it the next two days without any problems. Tim even gave us his business card and said to call him if we had any problems. I don't think you can beat that! THANK YOU, TIM. YOU WERE GREAT!!!!
There was time for a bathroom break on this tour. There was also an elevator access down to the waterfront. The tour included about a mile of easy walking. My friend sat on a bench a couple of times. The tour may have required a few steps as well. Only my friend used the elevator. Everyone else used the stairs to the waterfront.
