I stayed in this hotel as a timeshare exchange. I am very satisfied with my experience. The hotel is very conveniently located - in the middle of historic Gaslamp neighborhood, (and yet only 15 minutes ride from the airport). The building has a distinct artdeco styling. And although, their lobby is not very impressive compared to other hotels in the area, the suite itself was gorgeous, very spacious with wrap-around windows giving 270 view of the downtown.
Comparing to other typical timeshares, this property offers a few advantages - they offer daily complimentary (albeit very basic) continental breakfast on a rooftop with nice view. They also do room cleaning several times during week, which most other timeshares don't.
The cons are - bathroom is a bit worn out, Complimentary wifi was often dropping. There is neither stove nor toaster in the kitchenette, unlike other timeshares. (i guess breakfast is meant to compensate for that). But there is mini fridge and microwave.
Valet parking is available, but like all San Diego downtown, parking is very expensive. I would recommend not even rent the car, but use ride sharing or public transport option during your stay if you plan to venture outside walking radius.
The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful.

Nice room, a bit old fashioned but all the better for that. Clean and well fitted out. Fantastic view from the roof terrace where you take breakfast. All the staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful. About 20 minutes walk from the Amtrak 'Santa Fe' railway station, and the same straight down to the waterside conference centre.

This is a good hotel in the middle of the buzzing Gaslamp Quarter. A member of reception staff called Merry gave an entertaining welcome meeting introducing us to the area. Then we were treated to a guided walk which was informative and fun.
All the staff in the historic and beautiful hotel were more than helpful in making the holiday a good one.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front had a lot of noise as the area was buzzing.

We stayed here for a week on a timeshare. The 1 BR unit was spacious. Staff was friendly and helpful. They also have hotel rooms as our friends stayed here for a few nights. Valet parking is $32 a day with in and out privileges. Street parking really isn't an option. The building is about 100 years old but remodeled nicely. Breakfast is included on the roof top. The coffee is weak and they need to do something about that. The last few days we had breakfast elsewhere because the coffee is that bad.

Stayed here for a couple of days on holiday.
Front of house staff were very friendly - happy to have a chat about what to do around town and recommend a few things to me.

The highlight of this place was the roof. Totally under-rated. They serve a modest breakfast up there, but I went there both nights with a couple of beers and it was outstanding. Awesome views of the city and nobody goes up there! Loved it!

The room I had (504) was tiny. The view out the window of the pipes on the building wasn't great, but I hadn't paid a huge amount for the room.
Bathroom was a good size and clean.

Its only about a block away from the main gaslamp area full of restaurants so its in a great location.

This hotel would have been amazing some years ago.
A good, but not amazing, place to stay for the price.

Room Tip: Apparently the smaller rooms (e.g. 504) are quieter - the roomservice guys told me!
