We booked this hotel, because our high school booked this inn when our golf team qualified for the state tournament. Although it is miles from the course, I would recommend it highly. The building is tucked in behind some hotels with bigger names, but we are very pleased at the size, the amenities, the staff and of course the real plates and silverware at the breakfast buffet. None of that breakfast falling off the plastic plate as you walk to your table, or the fork breaking in half as you try and cut the biscuit, realizing next time you need safety goggles to eat the "free" breakfast. The hotel was built in 1986, but is renovated every two years according to the well informed front desk person. Some are minor, some are major. Our suite seemed to have been done with in the last year. Remnants of a previous era, such as a "jet nozzle bath tub" and a Hobart sun lamp were in the bathroom, but they weren't functional, but unobtrusive. Parking was great, however the lack of elevators on the different wings of the hotel, although only two stories, may lead one to ask for a main floor instead of doing the wide and easy, newly carpeted stairs. A wonderful courtyard with pool, hot tub a few gazebos and even a grill is also a special touch that you don't see too much anymore, especially in a large metropolis. This isn't the Ritz, but it sure competes with most of the higher end brand of hotels.

Room Tip: Trouble using stairs, book a room on the main level. Only two stories, but there is a bit of walking...

Check-in staff very friendly and helpful with Topeka, and gave places to eat! Also, they have a managers time in the evening (2 drink tickets, popcorn, chex mix) to come in and unwind! Room very large. Beds very comfortable and a good night sleep! Breakfast in the morning had plenty of hot and cold selections! The bisquits and gray were very good! Would recommend staying here.

Dear steve y,

Thank you so much for your great review on our hotel! I am so glad that our Front Desk staff provided superb guest service. This is what we aim for daily! I am also glad that you enjoyed our evening Manager's Reception. Our beds are new (within the past two years) so that makes me so happy that you had an awesome night's rest. Thank you for recommending us!

Sincerely,

After reading the reviews on Hotwire and TripAdvisor, we were thrilled for our upcoming stay. Upon arrival into our room, it was so incredibly dark and dingy. The musty chlorine smell sent my husband into a full asthma attack. We tried opening the patio door but the screen was punctured and completely off the track. I am glad that other people enjoyed their stay but this wasn't what I expected at all. For $8 more a night, you can get a much deal at another hotel. We just cut our losses and booked another hotel. The lady at the front desk was lovely but not enough to make me want to stay.

Dear bhabes77,

Thank you for providing your feedback on your experience at our hotel. I am so sorry that your husband had a full asthma attack upon entering the room. That is a terrible situation to be in and I apologize for this.

We have also replaced screen doors so I am sorry that yours was inoperable. I urge you to please return to our hotel again. Your experience does not reflect our standard of excellence.

Please let me know if you would like to talk on the phone as well.

Sincerely,
Lindsay

We were there for one night - 6 of us and the 3 rooms were just fine.
We liked the Happy Hour -the bartender has been there awhile and adds to the mood. Pool was great !
Breakfast standard but the breakfast area was very well tended and clean.
The front desk person Hunter - really outdid himself . A good tip on where to eat, replacing a lost key with no hassle, assisting with printing from the computer - and after our stay , seeing to mailing an item that was left !

Room was fine. Breakfast and Happy Hour were really nice. The only disappointment was the access to the outdoor pool. There are steep steps without any rails. They do have a lift chair, but sadly it was out of order.(looked like it may have been out of order for some time (cobwebs and leaves, etc.on it and in it) As a handicapped person it was difficult to get in and very difficult to get out of pool. But I did it.

Room Tip: ground floor because there isn't an elevator.
