We booked this hotel, because our high school booked this inn when our golf team qualified for the state tournament. Although it is miles from the course, I would recommend it highly. The building is tucked in behind some hotels with bigger names, but we are very pleased at the size, the amenities, the staff and of course the real plates and silverware at the breakfast buffet. None of that breakfast falling off the plastic plate as you walk to your table, or the fork breaking in half as you try and cut the biscuit, realizing next time you need safety goggles to eat the "free" breakfast. The hotel was built in 1986, but is renovated every two years according to the well informed front desk person. Some are minor, some are major. Our suite seemed to have been done with in the last year. Remnants of a previous era, such as a "jet nozzle bath tub" and a Hobart sun lamp were in the bathroom, but they weren't functional, but unobtrusive. Parking was great, however the lack of elevators on the different wings of the hotel, although only two stories, may lead one to ask for a main floor instead of doing the wide and easy, newly carpeted stairs. A wonderful courtyard with pool, hot tub a few gazebos and even a grill is also a special touch that you don't see too much anymore, especially in a large metropolis. This isn't the Ritz, but it sure competes with most of the higher end brand of hotels.
