We had had a long day and happened by this little gem on our way back from out Historical tour. We make it a practice when we travel to stay away from the touristy places and chain restaurants. I had seen Daily Catch mentioned in my travel book, and they were certainly on target. It is very small but reminded me of some of the little places we ate in Italy last year. The menu is on the chalk board and bread is immediately brought to the table. We shared the fish and chips and linguini with red sauce. Absolutely perfect and delicious!! The waitress was working the whole restaurant and putting together take out orders, but was extremely friendly and polite. Don't miss it if you are in the area, or make a special trip to get there.

I eat here at least once every time I am in town. On this trip I ate here 3 nights is a row. Had different dishes each time and enjoyed them all.

If you like it, get the black pasta. It is really good with any of the three sauces offered.

This review is for the Daily Catch at the North End in Boston! After standing in line on Saturday from 3pm-5pm we finally got inside the famous restaurant with only 18 seats. It is a tiny hole in the wall place so do not go expecting white table cloths or fancy ambience. It took us about 60 minutes from ordering to finishing our meal - the food was exceptionally good and very fresh. If you do not like seafood or pasta this is not the place for you - meat eaters beware there is no meat on the menu not even chicken. If you are more than 6 people expect to wait longer, not sure how they can accomodate party of 10 or more!!! CASH ONLY, do bring your wallet food is not cheap here. Our server was good and fast so was the service. We would love to go back but standing in line waiting for food is not what we look forward to.

We made a reservation for a later lunch during the Parade of Sail of Sail Boston. We had watched a good measure of the Parade from the nearby pier and were glad to take a little break while still having a view of the ships as they came in. We were seated right away and happily greeted by our server who was apparently just in town for the summer. She was personable and open, and did a great good taking care of our table during what was clearly a busy day.

There had to be oysters of course, and the garlic bread was suggested and loved. We also had calamari, and a cup of clam chowder. The fennel and orange salad was ordered by 2 of us at the table and it was absolutely delicious - a great choice. Other orders included shrimp scampi, broiled scallops, and fish and chips. Everything was done perfectly and was indeed pleasing.

One of the best parts was that as customers, the restrooms were open to our use - which was super important given that we had more viewing of ships to do and and unknown amount of time between the meal and our next public/available restroom :)

I was disappointed this trip. Several years ago I had a great meal. This time it was terrible. Seems like the swordfish I had was killed under a heat lamp. Plus the cost was out of line!
I'll reconsider going back the next time.
